boy names with k your opinion please

hi
what you all think about the boy name Kylan?
we know have only 3 mths left to decide
our first son name is kelvin
we finally agree with the name kylan (very difficult to find a name with my husband ..lol)
i just wondered to know what this name sound to you , would love your opinion and if someone know the meaning and origin we'd love be very appreciated as on the internet seach i can't really find anything about it

Never heard it before.

It actually sounds kind of made up to me, I'm afraid, and that generally makes me not keen on a name.

Not nice at all.

It looks like a mishmash of Kyle and Dylan, and there are no clues about how to pronounce it in the spelling. It looks made-up, tbh.

Kyle, Killian, or Dylan are all preferable, imo.

You will not like my opinion as I do not like the letter 'K'!!

Am really not keen on Kylan and think it is madeup and a bit naff!

definitely no then - would be awkward if he ever met someone called Ann

Well as Kelvin is the small river at Glasgow, what about Clyde which is the other one? 'K' sound but actually a 'C' initial.Personally, I like Kelvin very much but would advise against 2 sons with same initial will cause confusion with 2 Mr K Happy in the house.

It's not made up, it's a Gaelic name. If you're Scottish and you both like it then why on earth not?!

I actually know a chap called Kalyn - he hates it and wishes he was called John or Bill- his parents picked it whether he turned out to be a boy or a girl. Enough said.

Why do names have to start with the same initial. I know someone and all four children (of the same sex too!) all have the same initial.. Ugh. The only plus point I can see is that you simply need lots of clothes/name labels with the same initial plus surname in them... otherwise?? Confusion all the way, surely?

we are not Scottish but French in France killian is a very popular name since 2007 and we have thinking about it for our son kelvin 3 yrs ago but as it is now to popular we don't really like it anymore

i haven't made up the name i ve heard it for the first time by a friend who name her son like this and also on the internet search
i've also find it as a gaelic name

the prononciation isn't the same as killian it is more like ky-len

thansk for the 2 website i'm gona take a look at them

and about christopher and christian they are really to commun for us i like unusual name and also don't really like the calendar name

The boy's name Kylan \k(y)-lan\ is a variant of Kyle (Gaelic), and the meaning of Kylan is "narrow, straight".

we don't like kai it is to short
i don't think it is really confused to have 2 boys name starting with the same letter and for sure less than all the people name who end by the same
exemple : daisy, maisy, caissy...
also i think it is nice to find something unusual just because everydays at playgroup nursery , libruary ...i heard the same name i just think how does this work if they are 2 or more in the same classroom with the same name that for me much more confused than to have 2 children's with the same first letter
