I'm afraid I'm such a Kinks fan that that is my instant thought, Charlie and Lola notwithstanding. Also, it reminds me a little bit of lilos and, for some reason, those weird toys we had as kids which consisted of a ball with a plastic ring around it on which you stood to bounce. No earthly idea why, my mind is odd. I suppose it is aesthetically pleasing in a way, but I would probably prefer it as a nickname if used at all.

I really don't like it - sorry.

Makes me think of porn star or dodgy fortune teller. Also doesn't Dolores mean sorrow? Not very positive

I love it!

Although I am a Laura but my family and close friends have always called me Lola, (except my older brother who still insists on calling me Laura the Horror or Grotbags).

My 5 year old niece has just started calling me Auntie Lola too, which I love. Not sure why she's just started!

Oh and my middle name is Frances, so I think Lola Frances would be lovely!

shareastory · 26/03/2010 13:25

There is a brilliant childrens book/film in Germany called Here Comes Lola.

boodleboot · 26/03/2010 16:09

Lola Frances is indeed lovely actually....Lola Breeze a bit too wacky.

My daughter really wants Lola Evangeline which is the current fav at the moment....
