Well there's Harper Lee isn't there which is my first thought? Nowadays though I'd expect an immaculately turned out American boy in slacks and a tank top.

MadreInglese · 23/12/2009 13:32

boy probably

TinselianAstra · 23/12/2009 13:35

To kill a mockingbird.

I'd porbably think it sounded like a boy's name, but could understand if it was a girl.

dinoroar · 23/12/2009 13:36

I'd think surname. Although if I had to choose between boy or girl, I'd think boy probably.

hannahsaunt · 23/12/2009 13:37

Harper is a girl. Obviously. Didn't someone famous call their dd2 Harper, recently? I was v ; dh won't let me call ours Harper.

There's a woman who write for The Guardian, Zoe someone and her DD is called Harper. I honestly would have thought it was a boy's name, or like Paolo a surname.
