bargainhuntingbetty · 21/07/2009 19:45

what is dd's name?

notevenamousie · 21/07/2009 19:46

What is the name? I am certain she was just being mad and insensitive. Some people are just rude.

comewhinewithme · 21/07/2009 19:46

I love your dd's name too and almost stole it for my DD .

Disenchanted3 · 21/07/2009 19:46

No shes only 7 months,

DH had a face like thunder but it was hard to keep mad at her she was obviously unhinged.

Thats a cute name - the name of one our chickens

stleger · 21/07/2009 19:49

I think that ia a beautiful name!

bargainhuntingbetty · 21/07/2009 19:49

its lovely. I would never personally laugh at someone elses choice of name, sounds like she was either very rude or not all there.

stleger · 21/07/2009 19:53

The correct response (One i'm sure the Queen uses) is 'Oh how unusual'. I still think Aurora is lovely though.

notevenamousie · 21/07/2009 19:53

It's lovely. People seem to have something to say about all aspects of parenting, this is a great example of someone whose opinion you should ignore!

Aurora is a lovely name.

DD2's friend's mum once told her she didn't like her name - it would have been bad enough if she'd said it to me, but it made me that she said it to my child. Her daughter's name isn't wonderful imo, but I'd never have commented on it to her.

bigstripeytiger · 21/07/2009 20:02

Aurora is a lovely name. I surprised that someone would find it so odd, it isnt as if you just made it up

MissyBellatrix · 21/07/2009 20:08

Aurora is an absolutely beautiful name - elegant, stylish and ethereal.

I would actually be almost be pleased that someone I didn't take to (for whatever reason) didn't like it, imagine if it appealed to the masses, it must be pretty (yawn) common.

There is no universally loved name out there.

ok, so it's a disney princess but who cares? it is pretty. I've been considering Cinderella but had it vetoed on here before.

Tidey · 21/07/2009 23:34

I think it's a pretty name. Take no notice.

BananaFruitBat · 21/07/2009 23:35

I always wanted to be called Aurora when I was little.

Still love the name.

juneybertiebottsbean · 21/07/2009 23:39

I didn't think Aurora was a silly name, I think it's a lovely name.

It reminds me of this woman who was visiting nursery who was astounded at the name of a child at another nursery "it's so odd I'll write it down" and I was when she wrote Caleb. It's a bloody biblical name, hardly weird.

Aurora? What kind of name is that??

Only joking!
I think it's great, means "Dawn" doesn't it?

FAQtothefuture · 21/07/2009 23:46

I didn't chose my DS's "unusual" names to make them "stand out" - I chose them because I liked them and they gave them a link back to their family on DH's side.
