Cosimo/Marmaduke/Percy? What do you think?

I love the name Duke. Percy is cute and Cosimo sounds cool I think? I don't talk to family and friends about names so I thought I would ask here.

We already have a Bruno, Hector and Myles.

seaweed that is ott.

LouMacca · 04/02/2012 12:55

Sorry but I'm with Seaweed, all the names are beyond awful.

Bruno, Hector, Myles and

Sebastian
Barney
Leo
Toby
Casper

None of the above are my cup of tea but I think they sit well with your other DS's names.

Op, you are taking some very unpleasant comments on the chin. Kudos.

jaffacakehips · 04/02/2012 13:16

I like Cosimo, but drop the 'I' so it's..Cosmo.

I think Jasper would be great with your DC's.

jaffacakehips · 04/02/2012 13:21

What about Huckleberry or Sidney dust?

I agree with Chickens Kudos to Dust

I wanted Cosima for a DD but DH said no Sad

SoozyWoozy · 04/02/2012 14:01

I quite like Marmaduke, prefer to Duke alone. Percy is cute, wasn't there a famous gardener called Percy? Percy Thrower I think. Cosimo just isn't for me. The names you currently have are fairly unconventional so would be wrong to call this one James :)

phlossie · 04/02/2012 14:27

I love Bruno, and my DH wanted Hector... Myles is a great name too. Here are some other names we like:

Rufus (our ds's name)
Caspar (ds2's name if he isn't a dd...)
Felix
Albert
Otto
Cosmo
Rollo
Roland
Fergus
Finian
Angus

Of your 3 names, I like Percy best.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 04/02/2012 14:33

I do like Percy. Reminds me of Percy on Blackadder who was tremendous.

Greythorne · 04/02/2012 14:39

Given that dustbucket was posting back in 2009, I hope she has longsince resolved her dilemma, but thx synergy for resurrecting this thread as it's given me a good laugh.

ChickensGoMeh · 04/02/2012 14:42

Oh balls. Zombie thread

DottieRose · 04/02/2012 15:08

Cosimo is nice also like Cosmo but Marmaduke and Percy imo are not the nicest.
What about....

Casper
Rupert
Jago
Caspian

BlackLashes · 04/02/2012 15:15

No, No No!!! (sorry)

jetstar · 04/02/2012 15:26

Wonder what the child actually got called?

SoozyWoozy · 04/02/2012 15:35

I didn't even notice the date... but randomly a load of posts from 2009 loaded the other day and I couldn't work out WTF was going on! They all disappeared again when I refreshed the page!

TheCuntwormUnderfoot · 04/02/2012 16:19

Is Cosimo one of the grandfather names OP?

If so, snap. Mine was from Puglia. All those sniffing that it's Cosmo really are outing themselves as not having actually spent as much time in Italy as their MN middle-class checklist requires Grin

He was Cosimino when my granny was feeling romantic - awww

Ecgwynn · 04/02/2012 18:15

How about Arlo?

tammytoby · 04/02/2012 21:20

"I don't by your arguement for a minute. I have only heard one boy teased at school because of his name and he gets called "Jack, Jack the bum crack!""

And a William who gets teased with Willy!

OP, I think your kids' names are lovely and I particularly like your suggestion of Cosimo and Duke. At our school, we've got kids with all kinds of names, from different countries, and nobody would bat an eyelid at any of these names. Let's all be a bit more open-minded and not encourage more Jacks or Toms....

Scathac · 04/02/2012 22:14

I love your first three names. you can hardly go with Bill or Jimmy afetr these, though, can you? how about - Robbie, Jamie, Dugald, Alistair (yes, Scottish I know, but you started it with Myles and Hector) or what about Fiachra, Arthur (Artie), Finn, Henry (classic), Monty (Montgomery), Max (maxwell), Horace (classical), Mervyn, oh I could go on and on - I just love boys' names!
