Definitely Michael for Mick... it has a good lineage even if just in Irish sporting history...

He's adorable, congratulations!

I love Matthew with your surname.

What about:

Marcus
Toby
Lewis
Christopher
Laurence
Jonathan
Jasper
Quentin
Nicholas
Austin
C laud
Percy

It's usually the dad who wants a hard-sounding, strong masculine name while the mum wants a cuddly, soft name with lots of vowels, not the other way round!

I called my 3rd son William, he's known as Will now which I love. Strangely I liked Noah for my 1st son but partner said no way!!!!

As a contrast I like Thomas, Ellen and Alex O'Dwyer

Good Luck!

Noah O'Dwyer sounds fine, there are far worse tongue twisters.

Matthew is also lovely. It doesn't matter about having the same initials - Dh and DD2 have the same initials.

ooooh i made discussion of the day!

still no name, i am having trouble cos when i look at him all i see is william!!
DH doesnt like matthew.

1 have BIL's and cousins called jack, daniel, jake, liam, jordon, david!
so all them names are out. DH is called michael.

we are leaning towards charlie, as we both can tolerate it. not sure whether to call him charlie or charles and shorten it? which sounds better?

If you want Charlie, def go Charles and shorten it to Charlie. Especially as your other two have 'full' names (ie. Thomas not Tom...).

Charles is lovely.

Charlie sounds fine - I'd do Charles because people will call him Charlie anyway, and it gives you a choice

I think Isaac O'Dwyer sounds cool

Report
mhmummy · 11/07/2009 11:13

meant to say it gives HIM a choice, as an adult!

Report
brimfull · 11/07/2009 11:34

Isaac-love love love that name
