Noah for a girl?

Would love to use this name wondered what people thought of using Noah for a girl?

( I know it's typically a boys name but my SIL's best friend has a daughter called Noah and i've always loved it!)

noa?

Geepers · 30/04/2009 19:39

Ridiculous. Pregnancy hormones are getting the better of you.

IheartNY · 30/04/2009 19:41

pmsl why not just call her Bruce and be done with it

TheOldestCat · 30/04/2009 19:41

What about Nia instead?

Flibbertyjibbet · 30/04/2009 19:41

I would think it very strange.

If my sils best friend had a child with such an unusual name I'd consider that too close to be copying it.

Do you want your dd to go through life having everyone who ever hears her name thinking she's a boy? Cos thats what will happen.

nickytwotimes · 30/04/2009 19:42

It's a boy's name.
There are hundreds of thousands of girl's names.
Pick one of those instead and give the kid a break.

Slambang · 30/04/2009 19:43

er, no -ah

livvyanddaisymummy · 30/04/2009 19:44

The original plan was Ella. Maybe i should go back to that!

Guadalupe · 30/04/2009 19:45

Ella is nice.

nickytwotimes · 30/04/2009 19:47

Yep, Ella is more like it!

spenthen · 30/04/2009 19:48

I knew someone (in the States) who had a daughter called Noa.

I think it would be a lot of bother for the poor girl though.

troutpout · 30/04/2009 19:48

Lilyloo · 30/04/2009 19:49

Don't do it. It's a boy's name. She will hate you forever. You might as well call her Keith.

differentID · 30/04/2009 19:52

chequersmate · 30/04/2009 20:08

I'm not keen on it as a boys name tbh, let alone for a girl.

This thread isn't an homage to another recent one though is it?

Thunderduck · 30/04/2009 20:08

No. I love the name but only for a boy.

LissyGlitter · 30/04/2009 20:13

NO! My friend has a boy called Noah, and I thought it was an odd (but lovely) name for him! Never mind a girl!
