A sister for Lucy....

TigerFeet · 23/04/2009 19:06

dd2 is due in September and I am sadly lacking in inspiration when it comes to names.

I would like her middle name to be a family name, possibly Margaret or Florence after MIL as dd's middle name came from my side.

Lucy was the only name we agreed on when dd was born. We like traditional names, with dh being more conservative than I am. We weren't aware of Lucy's popularity when she was born but tbh I think we would have used it anyway. Her name suits her very well I feel.

So, any ideas gratefully received

Franny, I love all your names but may be a little unusual for the OP!
Back to the original quesion, I am a Lucy with sisters Susanna and Alice which I think go well.
To go with Lucy, also like:

Grace
Olivia
Matilda
Charlotte
Eleanor
Isobel

I know three Lucys. All of them have a sister called either Emma or Emily.

Clarabel ( not sure if it is a name but had a doll called it)
Bridget ( soo cute on a baby)
Marjorie (ditto)
Helena

My DD is Lucy Anne and I am Louisa-Jane (hideous name!) but I get called Louisa which I like cos it's different.

The other Mums I know call us "Louisa and Lucy" which sounds quite nice together but it might cause a little problem with the mail ...

Franny's names aren't too unusual for the OP, just the OP's dh [deep sigh]

Seriously if he doesn't stop saying "I dunno", I will call her Romilly Tabitha Fenella and he will just have to lump it

IME Lucy usually has a sister called Amy

TigerFeet · 23/04/2009 20:25

I like Louisa but the initial thing is a good point - I have the same initials as my Mum and it used to cause problems with the mail.

I also like Juliette.

TigerFeet · 23/04/2009 20:40

Amelia - dh vetoed last time

Katherine - very, very, very similar to my name, shame really as I rather like it, especially spelled with a K.

Just realised that Anna sounds a bit rubbish with our surname, too many "a" sounds

Have name changed (people may recognise me )

I have a Lucy
Her sisters are Millie and Mia.

Other names we considered for dd's are:

Mollie
Isabelle
Georgia
Katie
Imogen

Happy choosing

TigerFeet · 23/04/2009 21:07

Hannah

TigerFeet · 23/04/2009 21:35

I like Anna and Hannah but our surname also has two short "a" sounds so it would sound a bit a a a a
