A serious question- is silly, bold or cool?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PeppermintPatty · 09/03/2009 14:07

It's a gladiator name. It has too many associations with someone who is big, strong and hairy scary.

georgiemum · 09/03/2009 14:09

Nickname maybe...
Name... no, please don't.

oopsagain · 09/03/2009 14:09

i had a cat called colin,
he was cool

AitchTwoOh · 09/03/2009 14:09

love it sur le continent or with parents from abroad. but not for weedy englishers i think.

SobranieCocktail · 09/03/2009 14:10

As a nickname for Wolfgang it's lovely!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 09/03/2009 14:13

No! It's awful! (sorry but you did ask!)

foxytocin · 09/03/2009 14:14

no. esp since both Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin fancied it as nom de guerre.

belgo · 09/03/2009 14:14

@ aitch.

LavenderStar · 09/03/2009 14:15

NO WAY! You might as well call it Tiger.

belgo · 09/03/2009 14:19

Leon is another cool 'animal' name.

suwoo · 09/03/2009 14:20

I know someone with a DS called Tiger. Twats

TinySocks · 09/03/2009 14:22

toddlerama · 09/03/2009 14:26

It's cool!

Rindercella · 09/03/2009 14:36

Nope. No way. Do not do it. Please!!! IT IS NOT COOL.

bettany · 09/03/2009 14:38

No

kittywise · 09/03/2009 14:38

crap, really really stupidly crap.

suwoo · 09/03/2009 14:38

I really do prefer Wolf to Tiger. I can't wait to see what you decide on MrsRuffallo, I have enjoyed your name threads. When are you due?

edam · 09/03/2009 14:39

don't be daft!

nickytwotimes · 09/03/2009 14:40

Silly.
Fine as a shortened version of Wolfgang if you are German, but no, not as a name.

GorgonsGin · 09/03/2009 14:41

erm...NO!

noddyholder · 09/03/2009 14:41

i like it a lot.Agree that it has upper class prep school feel as could be dodgy otherwise and a bit wrestler-ish.Tiger sweet too and kitten

EldonAve · 09/03/2009 14:44

I like it but would use Wolfgang and then shorten it

frazzledoldbag · 09/03/2009 14:47

I quite like it
But am really not confident that I'd want to inflict it on my child to carry off. What if he was a wee, shy, retiring, bookish chap with glasses who ended up being a librarians assistant or something? Fine if he ends up a famous actor or rugby player or something tho. But really you can't tell in a new born can you!
Wolfgang is lovely too though......[hmm hmm, perhaps only with german parents?]
It's actually growing on me, I can feel it.
Wolfgang, Wolfgang, Wolfgang.
[adds to own list of names for DC using very pale pencil]

I also like Tiger but for a nickname, not as a real name.

LavenderStar · 09/03/2009 14:49

Upper class prep school name?!?
