Ooh - Imogen was our choice if DS had been a girl

DS has annouced he wants a baby sister called 'SALLY' (fat chance, sunshine!)

keepingitRia · 13/02/2009 13:57

Ursula has been on my list for at least 2 of my DSs.

frazzledoldbag · 13/02/2009 14:00

I like Fenella. Imogen is also nice. Not mad keen on Ursula. Can you say what your boys are called - might help?
(also am nosy as have two girls and expecting a boy so on the lookout for a nice boys name!)

great....so far no yucks!

i asked ds1 a few weeks ago what did he think if the baby was a girl...he said...aww i don't like girls toys!

when we told him it was a girl he said thats cool...i'll look after her ...hes only 4!

i just think...lucky girl, shes got two lovely big brothers to fuss over her....blub!

wideratthehips · 13/02/2009 14:06

Imogen.

I think Elsa, Elena or Ailsa would be nice with your boys names.

Fenella is the name of dd's tooth fairy (where we live all the girls have tooth fairies with names who write letters when they leave them their teeth & ).

nailpolish · 13/02/2009 14:08

i met a 7 yr old Bridget recently and thought it was a great name

wideratthehips · 13/02/2009 14:08

neenztwinz · 13/02/2009 14:10

Fenella just sounds like the vegetable fennel. I like Imogen - what about Esther? (my DD's name!)

I love Ailsa (pronounce Ailza I think when it is proper Scottish)

nailpolish · 13/02/2009 14:10

what about Kirsty

neenztwinz · 13/02/2009 14:10

Congrats on your little girl btw!!

Fimbo · 13/02/2009 14:11

I think when you are Scottish (I am too) that you need to think carefully about how certain names sound in a Scottish tongue. Imogen may sound terrible with a Dundee accent for example.(I am from Dundee so can say that!).

My own name sounds dreadful as many people drop the "t" that is in the middle of it. My mum often regrets my name because of this.

wideratthehips · 13/02/2009 14:12

my niece is kirsty so, no, but it is nice.

thanks for the congrats...i'm a bit stunned still (no offense to little girls...but most of the four year olds i know are, erm, tough work!!)
