My husband keeps saying if we have a baby boy he wants to call him Spike.
Initially I thought thats a dogs name - because a girl I went to school with years ago had a little dog called Spike.
But I must admit that over time the name has grown on me - and now it mostly makes me think of a really cool little chap! What do you think? Was my first opinion right or could this be a good name? Would he have to be a certian type of boy to carry it off? What if he is shy? (ok, enough of my questions!!!)

Think 25 years down the line. Bank manager, Surgeon, Finance, jobs along those lines. Then think Macdonalds, Burger king, fun fair etc etc.

Sorry am a bit of a hater.

I would never forgive my parents for naming me this. I would feel like they saw me as a fashion accessory and not a person worthy of dignity and respect.

I am sure you would not be feeling this way of course, its just the side effect of the whole thing.

If your DH likes it and it's growing on you, I don't see a problem at all.

Love it!!!!

It was the only name DH and I agreed on after reading through the baby naming book.
Unfortunatley our surname rhymes with C*nt - so it was not a goer - in much the same way as Mike is a no no!

Also liked Felix but that was possibly even worse with our surname.

I think go for it.

There are loads of unusual names out there I don't think in 20 years time people will bat an eyelid at a "Spike" at a job interview - however they might think "Paul" is an out- there name!
