Not Mango or Princess Tiaami before anyone thinks they are being really witty!

I am mixed race dh is white, so our child would look olive skined (like ds) or very possibly like a pale black/mixed raced person. Just thought i'd get that in before anyone flames me! Telling me how awful it is to inflict such a name on a typical British looking child.

My name is arabic in origin. Ds has a very british biblical name and i would like a more unusual name if i were to have a girl.

Thankyou! He look like his dad!

just unusual, maybe Spanish, Italian, Carbbean or Arabic, or maybe something floral sounding? To be honest i'm not really sure. Think that's why i'm struggling.

My names Safia (If that helps) people always tell me how exoctic it sounds.....it doesn't to me but i haven't met any.

I wanted Imani for my DS if he had been a girl. It's Swahili for 'Grace' apparently (our kids are also mixed race). Ended up calling our DD Bella, but also loved Anna-Maria, Maya, Nina, Zora (after Neale-Hurston) and Saoirse (I'm Irish background, though) and DH like Anya and Angelique.

MrsMattie · 26/01/2009 17:52

DH liked

marni you fashionista!!

LadyArden · 26/01/2009 17:53

How about Talia- it's sort of exotic and neutral at the same time and might become trendy with Barack Obama having a little girl called Malia.

keels26 · 26/01/2009 17:55

India
Jasmine
Giselle
Are any of them exotic?

Your son is so gorgeous, lmb.

LittleMissBliss · 26/01/2009 18:00

Mrs-Mattie- I also like Bella but i would have to have Sophia as the middle name which is too close to my name.

Oh gosh thank-you Riven I posted that pic a while ago because another mumsnetter was talking about braided hair. I am no longer that slim after ds ho-hum!

Seer-sha or Sare-sha depending on part of Ireland.

I also loved Giselle.

Rindercella · 26/01/2009 18:02

My DD is also mixed race. Her name is India. Savannah is beautiful & quite exotic. I also love Clementine and Jasmine.

You have a very beautiful son & you are very beautiful too!!

MrsMattie · 26/01/2009 18:06

LittleMissBliss · 26/01/2009 18:06
