I love it.

Really can't think of anything bad to say about it. It's cool, not pretentious, easy to spell and pronounce, not boring. Is a good name for a grown up or a baby.

traceybath · 21/01/2009 17:31

lovely

orangina · 21/01/2009 17:32

Love it. Would definitely be pushing for a Luca if I was to a) ever have another child (no plans there) and b) it was a boy....

go for it!

mum2b09 · 21/01/2009 17:34

leoleosuperstar · 21/01/2009 17:37

I have always loved this name.

beansprout · 21/01/2009 17:37

I think it's great too.

stepfordwife · 21/01/2009 17:38

lovely name

Lauriefairycake · 21/01/2009 17:39

Love it, very shaggable name cos of Luca in ER (Goran Visjnic) YUM

HecateQueenOfGhosts · 21/01/2009 17:39

It's fine.

Reminds me of that suzanne vega song.

Niecie · 21/01/2009 17:40

Gorgeous - it was on our list.

Sesi · 21/01/2009 17:45

It's on my list as well, I don't think it's weird at all. It was #72 in the top 100 in 2007. Probably higher this year. I'm worried it'll get too popular!

mum2b09 · 21/01/2009 17:46

yeah thats another thing i mean im not too worried about the popularity of boys names as im not really into the really unusual unheard names as i think its abit harder for boys 2 pull off always but i do like luca alot xxx

I think it's lovely

CuppaTeaJanice · 21/01/2009 17:52

I like it but it's slightly spoilt for me by a young Luca in a local toddler group who has the most ridiculous haircut!

Lastyearsmodel · 21/01/2009 17:55

I love it too. My brother has a friend called Luca and he is a lovely fellow.

It would have been on our list but felt it would suit more Meditteranean types as it's Italian-sounding. We're a very Anglo-Saxon looking lot, extremely pale, well suited to Gaelic names.

Sesi · 21/01/2009 17:56

If you're not freaked out by the top 100 like me lol, Luca seems perfect for a name which is not too unusual but not a Jack type of name.

Astarte · 21/01/2009 17:58

I adore it and have used it , but I'm worried now whether it is becoming a bit popular. C'est la vie.

Ours was named with Suzanne Vega reference.

paolosgirl · 21/01/2009 17:58

I love it. My next door neighbour's little boy is called Luca - they are an Italian family but it's a name that I think translates to the UK really well

Sycamoretree · 21/01/2009 18:09

I love it. Wanted it. DH nixed it.

I had a lovely friend at Uni called Luca. Go for it.

SecretSlattern · 21/01/2009 18:13

My surname is Luca although spelt slightly differen (which I will not reveal in case I am being watched )

lou33 · 21/01/2009 18:19

i wanted to call ds2 luca but my now exh said no (tho that is not why we separated )

i have a friend who has called his second child luca, and he has a son called xavier too

Doozle · 21/01/2009 18:20

I love it too.

singersgirl · 21/01/2009 18:27

It's fine if you're Italian.

PheasantPlucker · 21/01/2009 18:32

'I live on the second floor, I live upstairs from you....' But great name, nonetheless!
