Still on the hunt for a name we love for DD3 (due in 5 weeks) and on reading the thread about beautiful girls names, Amelie has stood out.

DH likes it BUT thinks we would have a lifetime of people saying "What, Emily? and us replying "FFS, NO AMELIE!".

Opinions please!

I did that the other day, never again Lulu, the hearth was a mess. I am shattered now, my legs can't carry me but I have done a lot today. Don't know how I will last tonight. Our other friend is 41 weeks pregnant who is going so it is going to be a riot tonight!

bratnav, your dog has a very pretty unusual name for a dog!

My DD is called Amelie Mai.
We decided on the name long before she was born, it was a toss up between that and Madeline. What is spooky is that she was born on the morning of the day that Madeline Mcann went missing. I am so glad now that we hadnt chosen Madeline but it was a bit freaky when we later discovered that her sister was called Amelie.
Lots of people have difficulty with the spelling and think she is called Emily but I think its a lovely name.
