Dd's class has 2 children called:

Emily
Nadia
Alex (boy)
Nikita (boy)
Cameron

Apart from Emily, I would have thought these names were fairly uncommon. Just curious to see which are the most popular names in your childs' school.

I've got one of those too chequers. And if anyone mentions margerine to me I
(a) think 'how common'
(b) give them an uncomprehending but icily blank stare
(I'm quite good at that now)
Suits her though.
And guess what, there aren't any others in her class / nursery!

Takver · 08/12/2008 12:18

No duplicate girls in DD's class, but there are
2 x Rhys
2 x Dafydd
out of 10 boys. No prizes for guessing where I live

missblythe · 08/12/2008 12:20

Think ALL the boys at DD's nursery are called Thomas/Tomos.

frazzledoldbag34 · 08/12/2008 12:22

DD is in a school class of 11.
Two are called James (well, one is now Jamie)
and there would have been two Mia's (but one has left)

Yr4: 3xKieran, 2x each Thomas, Alex, Daniel, Jack.

Yr2: 2 x each Oliver, Tyler, Ben.

Year groups of 45-50, so not that many duplicates considering the size of the intake.

If you look across years (R-Y4) in each year there is generally one+ per year:
Isobel, Thomas, Kai, Joseph, Joshua, Jasmin.

The funny thing is the common names we don't have -- No one (that I know of) called Emily, or William. Only one each of Chloe, Jessica Lauren (etc.) in all of R-Y4.

blametheparents · 08/12/2008 12:43

4 x Harry

DeckHallsWithFIMBOughsofHolly · 08/12/2008 12:50

ByTheSea · 08/12/2008 13:15

Year 8 DS has lots of Hannahs

Year 5 DD has lots of Georges, Maxes and Olivias

Year 2 DD has loads of Rachels, Ellies and Harrys

Seem to be some Chloes in every year.

ByTheSea · 08/12/2008 13:16

Also several Charlies in each year, both girl and boy.

SparklyBaubleFeast · 08/12/2008 21:23

Dd1 (8)

Charlotte (2)
Niamh (2)
Rebecca (2)
Joseph/Josef (2)
Matthew (3)

christywhisty · 08/12/2008 23:08

In DS's primary class there were 3 x Matthew
seems to be quite a few in his year at secondary school.

DD has 2 x Joshua

ChasingSquirrels · 08/12/2008 23:16

wierdly my ds1 is the only one in the school with his (top list 10 for a long time) name, but there are 5 of them in his beaver group.

christywhisty · 08/12/2008 23:22

My 2 have top 10 traditional type names as well and neither of them had another in their primary school class. There is another of DS's name in his set at secondary I think.

CountessDracula · 08/12/2008 23:26

DD's class of 29 has no duplicates
amazingly

CountessDracula · 08/12/2008 23:27

and no Camerons, Ellies, Harrys or Olivias

One Emily and one James though

ChasingSquirrels · 08/12/2008 23:28

ds rec class of 21 had no duplicates. current mixed yr1/2 class has a Ben and a Benjimum (sp?), think that is the only one.
