Nine years old! Hopefully OP has made up their mind now one way or the other

harrietsout · 03/02/2017 21:50

Ooh I love it! It's quiet a popular name where my DH is from in Ireland! Smile

manhowdy · 03/02/2017 21:58

I do believe that thanks to Breaking Bad, Walter is now quite a popular name. I love it! I hope the OP went for it Grin

Sandsnake · 03/02/2017 22:08

Another in the I think it's awful camp. But thought I'd comment to say how much I love your twins' names!

Henry?

Sandsnake · 03/02/2017 22:10

Bloody Zombie!

thetigerthatcamefortea · 03/02/2017 22:27

Love Walter. In fact I wanted it but my dh wasn't loving it.
Arthur is the middle name of one of my sons

HopingForALittleOne · 04/02/2017 00:04

Love Walter people are so horrible when someone says a name they don't like

KlingybunFistelvase · 04/02/2017 08:03

It's a zombie thread!

Half of these people are probably not even on MN anymore, so what on earth is the point in resurrecting this. It is nine years old!

manhowdy · 04/02/2017 08:49

WE KNOW IT'S A ZOMBIE THREAD AND WE WANT TO COMMENT ON THE NAME ANYWAY. THANKS.

KlingybunFistelvase · 04/02/2017 10:00

Don't use caps at me. You are rude and aggressive.

I used caps to make it obvious to the people who quite clearly didn't know it was a zombie thread. Not because I'm bizarrely aggressive.

manhowdy · 04/02/2017 10:32

Yes, I am the rude one not the lady dictating that we should not post on this thread.

Stop telling people where to post!

This thread was resurrected - I presume - as it ranks in position 1 in Google for the query 'baby name Walter' and 'boys name Walter'. There are no issues adding to it if it's still being read by people researching the name. It doesn't matter that the OP is probably no longer reading.

TisMeTheLadFromTheBar · 04/02/2017 11:05

Harrold -Harry for short
William
Maxwell

Thingvellir · 04/02/2017 11:05

Given little Wally is now 8 years old it would be fab if the OP could come back and let us know how it went....

TisMeTheLadFromTheBar · 04/02/2017 11:05

Walter White ... breaking bad. That's what springs to mind.

manhowdy · 04/02/2017 11:26

Moonywormtailpadfootprongs same for me! Is this a good or bad thing? Grin

Shadowboy · 04/02/2017 11:29

I like it but will always associate it with breaking bad.

Megabeth · 04/02/2017 11:33

Please don't, Walt is a name used to describe EDL/Britain First knuckle draggers.

therootoftheroot · 04/02/2017 11:35

it's STILL a bloody awful name.

i can't believe how many people have been swept along by fashion and called their children these awful old fashioned names that fell out of favour for a reason.
it's like the emperors new clothes-everybody ooh and ahhing about what a beautiful name Walter is or Mable or ivy or whatever monstrosity is on trend this week!
these babies are people who are going to have live a whole life saddled with their bloody awful names!
enough of the madness already!

HopingForALittleOne · 04/02/2017 14:16

What's wrong with posting on a old thread? I know the lady who started it would have named her child but why can't we still discuss the name Walter.

Are there some rules out there I'm not aware of?

KlingybunFistelvase · 04/02/2017 14:23

I can only speak for myself, but I find it really irritating when people resurrect zombie threads as, at first glance, it's hard to see they are old, so I might respond as if the OP is still reading. It's kind of irksome. Usually someone helpfully says it's a zombie thread so I realise.

I have no issue with people posting on them as long as everyone realises the OP and the other posters on the thread from years ago won't be reading. As you probably see from some of the posts on here though, often people don't realise till they've taken the time to post.

On the baby names board, I actually think it's easier to just start a new thread if you want to speak about a particular name. Tastes change so much over time so old threads quickly become less relevant.
