I took a deep breath, said 50 hail mary's and decided to throw it to the wolves...

my dt's are called Edward and Arthur.....

frazzle - oi, Puppy suggested it to me first - we can't have a sudden flood of Knobs in the class of 2014!

My Uncle who is 75 has the first name Walter (inisted on by his grandmother to carry on a family tradition). For some reason he has always been called by his second name Richard. Also his sons haven't ended up with it...enough said.

Walter Raleigh was cool. Except for making everyone take up smoking. But like his work with potatoes.

You give him the name you want and let his personality give it a whole new reputation.

Walter is not good- sorry. I like George and Henry best from your list. They are fab and go with your other DC's names.
If you really want something with 'old man chic' I prefer:

Wilfred (Wilf)
Albert
Stanley
Gilbert

I love Walt - not Walter, and have it (also in pencil) on my list

My Dad was a Walter and was known as Walt.

Oops yes zombie thread... Just goes to show how opinions change between 2008 and 2017. I don't think anyone would raise an eyebrow at Walter now. Very cool.
