Maximus a bit power rangery? No, transformers isn't it - it's the sort of name my 5yo would call one of his lego robots

Power name iyswim.

Tortington · 13/08/2008 07:37

Henry - if you must

Maxim/ Maximus (nn Max) ? too popular now - are you shitting me

Jonas/ Jonah - ok
Theodore (Theo) - noooooooooo
Rufus - noooooooooooo
Monty - nooooooooooooooo

poshtottie · 13/08/2008 07:42

I would say Henry but I am biased

But next I would say Theo and Max.

loobylu3 · 13/08/2008 08:52

Thank you for responses. Seems to be Theo, then henry, then Jonah/ Jonas.
Am surprised that Max/ longer version is not more popular on here Maybe people are calling their children just Max without a longer name.

Lucy

Love Henry (ds1's middle name)
Rufus, Monty ok
Not so keen on the others

VictorianSqualor · 13/08/2008 09:17

Rufus, it's my favourite name and what I will use if I ever have another boy.

chandellina · 13/08/2008 12:09

we went with Maxwell as a longer version of Max. (Kerry Katona be damned)

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 13/08/2008 12:16

Henry - ok, bit dull
Maxim/ Maximus (nn Max) - maxim is nice
Jonas/ Jonah - like both
Theodore (Theo) - love it
Rufus - nooooo
Monty - double noooooooo!

MrsMattie · 13/08/2008 12:19

Theo

LuLuBai · 13/08/2008 12:21

I think it is a lovely selection of names. Would probably pick Theo or Rufus as favourites although I like them all.

hellebores · 13/08/2008 14:10

Henry - yeah, but so many bloody Harrys surely
Maxim/ Maximus (nn Max) past its sell by date
Jonas/ Jonah - Jonas better
Theodore (Theo) - good
Rufus - love it - classy, arty
Monty - poncy no?

wheresthehamster · 13/08/2008 14:14

Maxwell not poncy Maxim/Maximus/Maximum.

And Monty nice.

Too many Henrys

No no no Rufus

gladders · 13/08/2008 14:18

of them all probably Henry?

Rufus and monty - have met vile children with those names recently so no....

Max - too many?

Theo - not my cup of tea

Jonah/s - my friend was going to have this, but it means 'bad luck' so she went with jake in the end...

cyteen · 13/08/2008 14:19

Jonah, Henry, Theo and Max, in that order

I do like Rufus but have an irrational disorder whereby every time I see it I hear Keanu Reeves shouting 'RUFUUUUS!' in his Valley Boy Bill+Ted accent, so it kind of puts me off.

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/08/2008 14:30

Monty.

Def not Rufus - for dogs only.

ds1 is max but did consider the others as possibles

thisisyesterday · 18/08/2008 20:43

I LOVE Jonas (and Jonah, but like Jonas better)
Theo fab
Rufus fab

Henry and Max, too ordinary for my liking, but perfectly nice names

PicassoNorks · 18/08/2008 22:24

Really like Monty and Jonah/Jonas

OLIVIASMAMA · 18/08/2008 23:20

Jonah - definately definately definately. Great name

loobylu3 · 19/08/2008 10:42

Thank you for feedback!

Does anyone like the name Arthur?

BTW, if anyone has any other ideas I would be v grateful.

Unfortunately DH is v difficult to please!!
He isn't keen on names that are too popular/ obviously Biblical/ too English (he isn't British).

Infact he is nearly impossible- last night he suggested Duke and Primus! We already have a son and a daughter (with normal names) so Primus comes a little late!!

Oh and I don't like 'made up' or modern names or anything too American sounding!

What a pair!
