Thoughts on Morris as boys name?

We’re struggling. Love Morris! We like “posh” boy names. But our friends have used many of the names we love.

I think it’s great! I know two people called Morris both elderly local farmers. I don’t really like the spelling Maurice though. I think a baby Morris would be lovely! x

I love the name Maurice and the nn Maury. Agree that Morris is a surname or a dance as far as I'm concerned, anyway.

Morris is a first name, a proper English first name.
Another way of spelling the name is Maurice, which was my dad's name.
The number of times people would pronounce it Mor-reece, the French way, it used to drive my dad mad.
Maury is a diminutive of Maurice.

I love it. It makes me think of this children’s book, one of the loveliest ones we had.
