Skoda Flavia? Is that a car?

fuckislessoffensivethanpardon · 29/04/2025 16:02

Reminds me of Flavor Flav ⏰

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 29/04/2025 16:05

It means ‘golden’ in Latin. I think brides were veiled in a Flavian veil which was a sort of saffron colour.

It’s an elegant name.

“Tell me what’s your flava”

Agreed

jennygeddes · 29/04/2025 16:07

Makes me think of year 7 Latin. Flavia est puella romana.

DecemberBackIn63 · 29/04/2025 16:10

I wouldn't be sure how to pronounce it so I'm not keen.

Flay-Via?

Flah-Via?

Fairyvocals · 29/04/2025 16:10

I like it. Reminds me of elegant Roman ladies, and also DD’s lovely Italian TA.

pinkhousesarebest · 29/04/2025 16:11

I know a Flavia but she was known as Flavie. Very cute.

Overtheatlantic · 29/04/2025 16:11

‘King of coffees’

DaisyChain505 · 29/04/2025 16:18

Sounds like an artificial food flavouring or a part of women’s genitalia.

unlikelywitch · 29/04/2025 16:23

I don’t like the ‘fla’ sound. Makes me think of flange, sorry!

It sounds like a name from The Hunger Games. Not too keen.

policeandthebeef · 29/04/2025 16:27

Sounds like labia.

stargirl1701 · 29/04/2025 16:29

There’s a book series by Caroline Lawrence about a girl named Flavia.

Pleasantsort · 29/04/2025 16:32

The guitarist/ singer in a band I like, The Courettes is called Flavia. She is very cool. She is Brazillian and lives in Denmark. Check her out. Cool name too.

Ecce Romani 🤣 - that was my first thought too, wonder if she has a friend called Cornelia…

IsItADream · 29/04/2025 16:35

Oh dear, some strong negative opinions 😅.

It would be pronounced Flah-Via. We need a name that can be pronounced easily in English and German.
