Harris is great in Scotland (PP have pointed out) but that's because of the island... How about Lewis (the other end of the same island)?

Franklin doesn't do it for me either, but Frank is cool.

Roscoe is definitely DofH, but Ross is a good name.

Struan
Murray
Duncan

BootballJoy · 19/03/2025 22:29

I like Franklin, not keen on the others but they aren't unusual or dreadful at all.

Fioratourer · 19/03/2025 22:38

No not awful. I’m not keen on surname first names. But Franklin is quite cute I quite like Frankie though.

ScentOfAMoomin · 19/03/2025 22:42

Harris is great, not so much the others

Perculiar · 19/03/2025 22:45

I like Harris and Franklin

timoteigirl · 19/03/2025 22:45

The only okayish is Franklin.
Sullivan
Mitchell
Fraser
Baxter
Sheridan

dontforgetme · 19/03/2025 22:57

Absolutely love the name Harris op.

onetwothreefourfive11 · 19/03/2025 23:18

Roscoe is a chicken shop that Snoop Dogg likes to eat in

Jamclag · 19/03/2025 23:24

I like Franklin - Frankie is sweet and Frank works for an older teen. I think it's quite a solid sounding name.

BellissimoGecko · 19/03/2025 23:24

Harris is lovely, but it’s a Scottish name and popular there (name of an island). The others aren’t my style. What names does your h like?

LauderSyme · 19/03/2025 23:29

No they're not awful at all, though clearly not everyone's cup of tea. But if your dh doesn't like them, you can't use them.

I know a Sullivan, a Harrison and a Jackson.

FondantFancyFan · 19/03/2025 23:30

How about Xavier?

Catofthesouth · 19/03/2025 23:33

They are lovely names for a lad. Franklin will get abbreviated to Frank though. Roscoe is nice and no one will recall DoH except grannies by the time he’s at school. Nice sensible names. Enjoy your lovely boy, hope all goes well xxx

Catofthesouth · 19/03/2025 23:34

Do consider Fang, though. Ahem xx

suah · 19/03/2025 23:34

Roscoe is definitely a dog name.
Harris I think tweed. Harry is nice.
Franklin is rather ugly and I think Frank/Frankie/Francis etc are all a bit overused at the moment.

Theywerebrilliant · 19/03/2025 23:36

Roscoe P Coltrane obviously 🤣

I've heard worse, but wouldn't choose any of them myself.
Franklin is the best I think. They are all very American sounding imo.

LadyGAgain · 19/03/2025 23:38

Harris/Haris - love this
roscoe - no. And very USA sounding.
Franklin - awful.

WellsAndThistles · 19/03/2025 23:58

I really like Harris but it's too close to the Rolf variety.

Don't like the other 2.

What about Harry or Harrison?

Or, my personal favourite I was keeping in case I had another 'Brodie'.

mathanxiety · 20/03/2025 00:35

I like Harris and Franklin.

Roscoe is too country music for me.

crumblingschools · 20/03/2025 00:37

I wouldn’t choose them, what are his options?

ShriekingTrespasser · 20/03/2025 00:58

Not Roscoe but others are ok.

SnowFrogJelly · 20/03/2025 00:59

Yes

DuchessOfNarcissex · 20/03/2025 08:33

I wouldn't pick any of them, but Harry, Frank and Ross are fine.
