I love Holly. I think it's very pretty, and I don't think it's super popular.

I like it, but find with these kind of names (e.g. Noel) I subconsciously find myself working out whether they were conceived or born at Christmas.

Emanwenym · 01/03/2025 11:20

I like it. Makes me think of a capable, no-nonsense woman. I also like Molly and Polly, but the vibes are slightly different.

I love the name Holly - one of my favourites 😁 Pretty for all ages, modern sounding but not too trendy, simple easy to spell and pronounce, familiar but not overused - a great choice

BoleynMemories13 · 01/03/2025 11:33

I really like Holly and it always surprises me that it's not top 50 popular anymore. With both nature names and ie/y ending names being big trends right now, I'm surprised more people don't opt for Holly. I much prefer it to the more popular but similar sounding Hallie.

NuffSaidSam · 01/03/2025 11:34

I think it's meh.

But I'm of the generation where I went to school with 75 different Holly's.

MeAndMyGhost · 01/03/2025 11:34

I've only ever met nice Holly's - it's a like from me.

aspidernamedfluffy · 01/03/2025 11:35

Overused (there must be some sort of bylaw where I live stating girls must be called Holly, Emily or Olivia 😄) and boring.

hyggetyggedotorg · 01/03/2025 11:38

I love Holly. I wanted to use it for DD but a close friend had a Holly a few months before she was born.

I have had 4 pets called Holly in my lifetime though 😁

Emanwenym · 01/03/2025 11:53

I only know 3., and they are all adults, @aspidernamedfluffy .

tedibear · 01/03/2025 13:24

It's alright but I just think I know a lot from my childhood. I'm late 30's. There's so many more beautiful girls names to choose from.

AdaColeman · 01/03/2025 13:34

It's alright for a Christmas baby, but there are prettier, more vibrant names available.

SummerInSun · 01/03/2025 13:41

Love it. Great name.

Buttonless · 01/03/2025 13:43

It’s dull and nothingy.

JaninaDuszejko · 01/03/2025 13:45

I know two adult Hollies and like them both so it's a yes from me.

Quercus3 · 03/03/2025 07:29

I'm a Holly, I love it

usernamebetty · 03/03/2025 07:53

A bit meh. Too Christmassy

Motherrr · 03/03/2025 07:55

I love Holly... would have called my daughter that but it was vetoed!

Enko · 03/03/2025 08:19

I'm not a fan find it quite dull.

SuddenFrisson · 03/03/2025 08:27

It reminds me of that depressing rag doll/character in patchwork dress and giant bonnet Holly Hobbie who was everywhere for a while.

I love it.

caringcarer · 03/03/2025 09:02

I know 2 DC called Holly. Both born in December.

Nodlikeyouwerelistening · 03/03/2025 09:09

I like Holly, but I do think it very much depends on the regional accent it’s spoken in.
