We are due twin boys soon and we still haven’t settled on names.

Our current front runners are Hugo and Magnus.

Thoughts? What else might we like? Really stuck!

ps definitely don’t want to do cutesy/matchy or same first initial

Not a fan of Magnus. How about

Hugo and Hamish
Hugo and Oliver
Hugo and Casper
Hugo and Sebastian
Hugo and Jasper

StressedQueen · 01/11/2024 20:11

I also dislike Magnus

Hugo is nice enough but there's something off about it for me, not sure how to explain. Maybe it's a little posh

Fireworknight · 01/11/2024 20:13

Lovely names op.

other suggestions

Samuel
Rupert
Julien
Sebastien
Nathaniel
Sullivan
Donovan
Montgomery

and congratulations on twins.

Newsenmum · 01/11/2024 20:21

Mannus
Hamish
Oberon

Bideshi · 01/11/2024 20:24

I like your names. I Iike Magnus, but I'm in Scotland where it's considered a classic name.

wizzler · 01/11/2024 20:31

Hugo and Duncan

Also like Cameron and Alistair

17caterpillars1mouse · 01/11/2024 20:34

Magnus is gorgeous. I know a little 2 year old Magnus but he is the only one ive ever met.

Hugo is really popular in my area and whilst I think it's OK, i feel its nothing special. I would want to choose something with more spark to match Magnus personally.

Comedycook · 01/11/2024 20:35

Felix
Angus
Max
Sebastian

houseselling101 · 01/11/2024 20:38

Congratulations!

I have twins!

One tip is to try shouting the names you like out loud and imagine you are doing it across a busy playground 😂 you don't want anything too wordy (or odd!) as you'll be saying them often enough!

LePetitMaman · 01/11/2024 20:43

Also a twin mum, congratulations 🎉

My only thought, was that the names sound like you're trying to sound posh. Which is fine if you do have quite a grand lifestyle. But, like it or not, will look a bit daft and try-hard if you don't.

Firsttimebabymummy · 01/11/2024 20:47

Congratulations!

I like both those names, especially Hugo.
I dislike the nn Mags and Maggie for Magnus though which would put me off.

Alistair, Sebastian, Sullivan, James

Max
Sebastian

Max is a nice alternative to Magnus

Exactly my thoughts.
Laurence/Laurie and Sebastian/Selby would be my choices

AutumnLeaves24 · 01/11/2024 21:09

You can't go past the traditional names.

William & Benjamin.

SallyWD · 01/11/2024 21:11

I think Hugo and Magnus are perfect.

Compash · 01/11/2024 21:11

Billy and Tommy.

Wonkywinky · 01/11/2024 21:15

Angus
Fergus
Otis
Corrie
Seamus ( pronounced shaymus)

VintedVirgin · 01/11/2024 21:16

Conrad
Joel
Gregor
Roscoe
Digby
Charles
Orson

Those all strike me as a similar vibe to Hugo and Magnus. Definitely what I'd consider quite well-to-do names but also ones which any kid from anywhere in the UK could have and grow into nice adult male names

Comedycook · 01/11/2024 20:35

Felix
Angus
Max
Sebastian

This thread popped on my MN thing, I'm not being horrid choosing you! 😂

Please not Angus! We've got a friend who did Angus and he gets "Angus me coat up".

Felix though. 👀 Like that one. Very, very on your side there. Didn't choose that myself at all. 😂

Sebastian is also a lovely one. I'd go for that.

How about Francis, OP? Do you like books? Maybe something Literature related?

orangetriangle · 01/11/2024 21:56

How about Hugo and Milo
