Title says it all really. Duckie is out.
Second favourite is Spike.
I also really like Dot and Dusty.

You’re working up to suggesting Balonz, aren’t you?

Glitterbiscuits · 04/10/2024 21:44

Is this a name for a human baby or a pet?

Tulip8 · 04/10/2024 21:44

Like the vampire?

Namechangetotalkaboutmysleepingpillsproblem · 04/10/2024 21:44

Aww Duckie is adorable. Could it be a nickname ?

whyohwhy27 · 04/10/2024 21:45

Rocky might suit your taste and is slightly less ridiculous

OhcantthInkofaname · 04/10/2024 21:45

Fido?

Attelina · 04/10/2024 21:46

Why do you want to name a child with a name that is going to prejudice them in life?

TemuSpecialBuy · 04/10/2024 21:46

Agree with @Saschka

Stop messing about and just go straight to Balonz.

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 04/10/2024 21:46

😂
you need to choose a name for an actual human.

ItsVeryHyacinthBucket · 04/10/2024 21:46

Literally love, buy yourself some chickens or some guinea pigs and name them at will, until you get all of this out of your system.

That's what I was thinking

Dinopoppypoops · 04/10/2024 21:47

What about Cera?

ScottBakula · 04/10/2024 21:48

With no offence to doctor duckie mallard , spike was much better looking .

How about William with Spike as a nickname 😉

Dinopoppypoops · 04/10/2024 21:49

Or Petrie?

Montydone · 04/10/2024 21:50

I think Spike is cute (I’ve known a couple!) and also Dot; she could be registered as Dotty or Dorothy so she can choose what to call herself later on. For some reason I can’t imagine a child called Dusty!

Mum2jenny · 04/10/2024 21:50

Please call your baby a reasonably normal name. So far, all your ideas are rather random (and that is a polite response)

William The Bloody...
Bloody awful poetry that is!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 04/10/2024 21:51

If the baby is a girl, Dorothea would have the nickname Dot, @magicstar2020 - that would be lovely.

I honestly don’t think Spike is a good name either - maybe as a nickname, but not their given name. It’s better than Ducky, but makes me think of the vampire in Buffy. You could use William (Spike, in Buffy, is William the Bloody), with Spike as the nickname.

Dusty used to be a nickname given to millers, if I recall correctly - plus the link to Dusty Springfield, which make it sound rather old fashioned to me.

You are naming a person, and I think you need to put their feelings above yours. Cute nicknames are fine for pets, but not such a good idea for children, I’m afraid. I’m not trying to be hurtful or rude, so I am sorry if this upsets you.

What about Littlefoot..
Going for a Land before time theme?

Lol and it was bloody awful

FrazzledHippy · 04/10/2024 21:52

What about Peetree or Little Foot? Sharp Tooth? Sara is a little plain but fits in with the theme 🤷‍♀️😂

Aspecialplaceinhell · 04/10/2024 21:53

Just call it bolonz and have an early night.

Soshiny · 04/10/2024 21:53

Spike tried to rape Buffy so absolute hard no

I'm glad I'm not the only one who immediately saw the connection. 🦖🦕🦖🦕
