Hiya

I have to say that I do like all of the names you have suggested. For the boys my preference would be Albert and Henry (Hen is a cute nickname)

For the girls, I particularly like Olive and Jemima but all lovely names. I know a very special girl called Jemima and she has many different nicknames: Jem,Jimmy, Jim, Mima, Mi-mi and Jim-jam. (I noticed you had put nn in so thought you might be interested in some for others?

HTH!

Favourite girl's name from your list is Constance (Connie) and favourite boys name is

Solomon (Sol) but then I am biased as ds is Solomon , we always get nice comments about it as it happens and it really suits him.

janeite · 11/04/2008 21:27

Reuben and Jennifer - I like both of these a lot.

Olive is horrible, as is Ivor; sorry, sorry but you did ask. Don't like Albert or Jemima either.

charliegal · 11/04/2008 21:43

my mum's name is olive! She has always hated it though.
I like it and have noticed it become popular in trendy parts of london.

pointydog · 11/04/2008 21:44

girl: Ellen by a mile (but not Nell)

boy: none

FYIAD · 11/04/2008 21:45

they are all a bit ponderous

puffling · 11/04/2008 21:48

Prefer Ivan to Ivor

Janni · 11/04/2008 22:29

OK other poss boys names along the same lines as your choices:

Adam, Samuel, Daniel, James, Jonathan, Luke,
Christian, Zachary, Benjamin....

ninja · 11/04/2008 22:51

Maude and Solomon as someone said Sol is a cool shortening

ninedragons · 12/04/2008 07:34

Like Nell and Reuben.

Jennifer is deeply ordinary but perhaps that's just a generational thing, having had about seven of them in every class throughout my school years. I prefer Genevieve.

Nothing on your boy list makes my heart flutter but I would prefer Ian or Ivan to Ivor.

vicsta · 12/04/2008 07:38

Connie & Reuben. Not so keen on Constance, can Connie be short for anything else? Not that it matters - just wondering
