Me-La, probably because of Mila Kunis

Me-La, probably because of Mila Kunis

Exactly this.

I also know a lovely lady who spells it Meela.

Neverpostagain · 29/05/2024 19:10

Me luh

WhyamInotvomiting · 29/05/2024 19:11

Me-la but with my accent it's a bit like me-leh tbh!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 29/05/2024 19:11

Me-La

caringcarer · 29/05/2024 19:12

Most likely I'd ask but My la

SharonEllis · 29/05/2024 19:12

Meela

Scottishgirl85 · 29/05/2024 19:12

Meela - it is the correct way to pronounce it.

If you want my-la, spell it Myla.

Miller is an accent thing, I'm scottish and would never pronounce it that way.

OddBoots · 29/05/2024 19:12

I would have though 'Mil-a' until I read some of these posts.

Antsinmypantsneedtodance · 29/05/2024 19:13

Me lah. But everyone pronounces it differently. So if you're considering it be prepared for a lifetime of correcting people.

I know a Mila and i hear myla, miller, mil-e-a...

Thebigfriendlymoth · 29/05/2024 19:13

I know 2 Me-las and one My-la so I'd probably ask if I saw it written down.

KDPC841922 · 29/05/2024 19:14

My-la

My horse is called Mila :)

TribeofFfive · 29/05/2024 19:14

Glitterbiscuits · 29/05/2024 19:19

Mill-ah

blushroses6 · 29/05/2024 19:20

Definitely Me-La. Myla would be My-La.

pizzaHeart · 29/05/2024 19:21

I’ve only met My-la pronunciation.

DuchessOfSausage · 29/05/2024 19:21

My-la

LizzieBennett73 · 29/05/2024 19:23

Mila = Mee + Lah
Myla = My + Lah

Tuwhituwhoo · 29/05/2024 19:23

Meal - er

rinseandrepeat1 · 29/05/2024 19:23

My-la

MistyHazelFox · 29/05/2024 19:23

Me-la

Can't speak for all Slavic languages, but its word name in Balkan Slavic languages.
It means sweet, graceful, kind, cute
For example Mila žena = kind woman
Basically a Grace in Slavic, it would be like choosing Grace in Serbia and deciding you want it pronounced differently than in English. I think people think of Miles and Milo when they want to pronounce it My-la, but it just sound bad.

Downdownunderrabbit · 29/05/2024 19:24

Mee-la

Same mi-la

heretodestroyyou · 29/05/2024 19:26

I know two children called Mila. One is Meela and the other Myla so not helpful at all. I would assume Meela usually.

SirChenjins · 29/05/2024 19:28

Me-La - as in Kunis
