Hi,
What are people's thoughts on the name Sadie?

I worked with a Saydi, which I like.

I’m a Sadie. Some interesting comments on here!

It's a nickname for Sarah.

It’s a name in its own right. It is a deviant of the name Sarah.

I think you mean variant not deviant.

To me it’s an old lady babe as I’ve known a few Auld Sadie’s which was an endearment for Sarah and not Actually a name.

It looks so sad 😞 and I always want to pronounce it Sad-ie

I’m afraid for me it has all the associations mentioned - including the cleaning lady but I don’t really know why other than I have heard both my mother and grandmother say “ Sadie, Sadie: cleaning lady.”

I can’t see why people say they don’t see “sad” and “die”; they are both plainly there to see and sadist is also a very natural jump. It also looks like Saddie.

There are lots of other names op . Sorry to all the Sadies 😔 but op wants an honest response.
