Amber by far.

nonottoday · 07/05/2024 18:57

Amelia for me.
I've never met a nice Amber. Sorry, nice Ambers - I know you exist!

Theoldwoman · 07/05/2024 19:00

Amelia

MountCaramel · 07/05/2024 19:04

Amber because Amelia is jncredibly common (as in popular) right now.

The floral name Azalea begins with the letter A but not as popular as the other two names.

warnc007 · 07/05/2024 19:06

I've got a 10 year old Amber, she loves her name and is the only one in her school (3 form entry primary school, so quite a few kids)

Amelia is a medical condition meaning 'absence of limbs'. It also sounds dreadful with that 'mealy' noise in it! Uh mealy uh.

Amber is a beautiful name.

I now prefer Amber..!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 07/05/2024 19:30

I like them both, but Amber has the edge for me, it's more elegant and, as a PP wrote, there are so many Amelias...

iAmBarbara · 07/05/2024 19:32

Amber
I personally hate the name Amelia

Alltheyearround · 07/05/2024 19:38

Amber

Sprogonthetyne · 07/05/2024 19:45

We have an Amber, and it's great. Only one in class and it's easy to 'sound out' when learning letters (our Amber's 4), and many letters to master in wobblyhand writing, which gives them an earlyconference boost..

There is apparently one other Amber in the entire school of 480 (primary plus nursery, 2 forms X 8 years)

Alicia.

AnotherLauraPerson · 07/05/2024 20:36

Amber.

There are sooooo many Amelia’s it’s become boring.

daughterofmissionaries · 07/05/2024 22:34

Amber lovely nature associations, pretty name, everyone knows, but not overused. Very pretty.

Heatedblanky · 07/05/2024 22:37

Amber - or Amelie - they’re both lovely.
I don’t like the eelier sound in Amelia.

There are so many Amelia’s, Emilia’s, Emily’s. So many. Amelie at a push. But Amber is nicer if only because it’s not as common/ popular.

Edited

It is much more common, just not in the sense you meant it there. I vastly prefer Amelia.

AM1994 · 08/05/2024 19:12

I prefer amber but a possibly similar to Amelia - Emmeline which I love but heard after we had had our daughter
