Does the name Evie go with our surname?

We love the name Evie for our little girl but unsure if it goes with our surname ‘Leeds’. Is ‘Evie Leeds’ too much in terms of the ‘ee’ sound? I can’t work out whether I love it or hate it and need an objective view 😌

I like it!

Dareisayiseethesunshine · 20/04/2024 11:30

Looks great and sounds fab!!

Purplecatshopaholic · 20/04/2024 11:31

Sounds fine and Evie is a really lovely name!

qwertyqwertyqwertyqwerty · 20/04/2024 11:34

I think it is too much ee - three in a row!

Sorry.

BingoMarieHeeler · 20/04/2024 11:34

Love it!

AzureSheep · 20/04/2024 11:34

I like it, it’s really pretty. I’m biased though, my daughter is an Evie (officially Evelyn, but we call her Evie) 😊

TheCultureHusks · 20/04/2024 11:35

Eek I’m going to disagree, sorry!

I think it’s very harsh sounding, not just the repeated ee, but I think a longer name would be nicer with Leeds. Evie Leeds is basically three ‘eee’ noises in a row and not much else, Evie’s nice but I don’t think it’s great like that.

I would put a three syllable name with Leeds.

chocmatcha · 20/04/2024 11:35

It's fine

NiceDayatlast · 20/04/2024 11:37

It’s ok. Are there any other names you like? I agree a long name would sound good.

Mintyt · 20/04/2024 11:38

It's a lovely name love it

Ellerby83 · 20/04/2024 11:44

I think there are too many ee sounds. Sorry

Notellinganyone · 20/04/2024 11:46

Go for Eva, which is the actual name, Evie is a diminutive form. Goes better with your surname.

Moreteaandchocolate · 20/04/2024 11:47

Love it!

FlyingPizzaMonkey · 20/04/2024 12:28

Too many Eeee sounds. Eva would be better.

Not overly keen on Evie personally because there are sooooooo many of them. It’s one of those names that gets attached to the last name to differentiate which Evie it is.

Boxerdor · 20/04/2024 12:30

I think too many eee sounds. All 3 syllables of the full names are an eee sound.

I think Evelyn Leeds, Eva Leeds or Emilia Leeds would be better

BananaSpanner · 20/04/2024 12:30

I like it and think the multiple ee sounds make it good quirky.

Theoldwoman · 20/04/2024 12:31

I love it!

modgepodge · 20/04/2024 12:33

Evalina Leeds or Evangeline Leeds? With Evie as a nickname? Agree that a longer name works better with your short surname, and neither of the above are so ee sound heavy. I think surnames would mostly be used with the full name, not so much with her nickname Evie.

pippapipps · 20/04/2024 12:34

I love the name but sorry I don't think it goes with your surname
Eva goes better or Ava with your surname

SpringLobelia · 20/04/2024 12:38

Too many ees for my ear as well I am afraid.

localnotail · 20/04/2024 12:48

I like it, most "names" thread on here are crazy - yours sounds lovely. Evie is a super cute name and goes well with your surname.

theduchessofspork · 20/04/2024 14:30

I think it’s too much, sorry.

Newgirls · 20/04/2024 14:32

Can you use it as a middle name eg Jane Evie Leeds sounds softer? Doesn’t have to be Jane that’s just what came into my head!

BreatheAndFocus · 20/04/2024 14:57

I like the name Evie but I don’t think it goes with your surname. Too many ee sounds and the two names kind of merge together.

CadyEastman · 20/04/2024 15:23

Sorry it's the two short names both with and ee sound that would put me off.
