What do you think about Chanel? Is it too chavvy or is it a respectable name? I think it sounds beautiful but I’m not sure what others might think. Is this name too tied to the luxury brand? I know there’s parents these days naming their kids ridiculous things like Gucci though.

I worked with a girl called Tia Maria many years ago. Chanel is on the same level.

I know a sibling set Chanel, Dolce and Cartier. It's definitely chavvy. I also know a Dolcie, and I'm sure they were going for that brand style too as that is what they are into, but I much prefer it as it is an actual Latin origin name and different from the brand. If you just like the sound of the name, I'd change the spelling.

Really randomly, this has just reminded me that my landlord at university was called Chanel and a) he was male and b) he’d be about 50 by now. Only one I’ve ever come across! But no, I really wouldn’t OP.
