Sibling set - 3rd boy name!

Hi everyone 👋

We juuuuuust managed to agree on names for our first two boys and have found ourselves pregnant with a third boy 🤣 We are STRUGGLING to come up with a third name so looking for suggestions that go with our other two. They are - Ronan Alexander and Asher James.

We like names that aren't too popular or too unusual, generally pronounced the way they're read and our surname is only one syllable so we have tended to lean towards multi-syllable first names. The option of shortening would be a pro, but for the right name I think we'd be okay with something that's not got a common nickname.

Please hit me up with your suggestions 🙏

Thanks!

Our youngest DS is Luca. It is becoming more popular but at the moment he’s the only one I know personally 😀

As you have Ronan what about Oisín? Our son is 12 and loves his name. It’s pronounced Osh-Sheen and he’s often shortened to Osh.

We have been talking about Leo and I loooooove Leopold. My only worry with Leopold is that it's too strange/old fashioned and we'll just call him Leo and he'll be embarrassed at every school presentation/every time an unknown teacher calls his name at school 😬 it still makes me swoon though so... 🤷🏻‍♀️😍

If I'd had a second ds rather than a third dd I'd have named him Leonidas and called him Leo for short.

Rian which means little king in Irish. There is a fada on the i but my stupid phone won't cooperate. Cormac was a High King of Ireland. Cathal? Or Ciaran?

Bearmummy82 · 26/11/2023 16:27

Atticus!

RhiKim · 26/11/2023 16:27

Ah your boys names are gorgeous. I think Jasper would be lovely.
I also love Archer, might be too similar to Asher for you?
Caspian?
Sterling?

RhiKim · 26/11/2023 16:29

Oooh I also LOVE the above suggestion, Atticus is great.

good luck! Names are hard 😅

I love the names your other boys have. Really lovely. Also I feel your pain! I have 4 boys and naming the 3rd and 4th was sooooo hard! Best of luck and thank you for coming bank replying to so many people. I love a name thread but it’s very rare that the OP comes back!

Don’t worry about the school thing my son is Edward on his birth cert and official docs but he has ALWAYS been Ned ….. no one has ever called him Edward at school, they ask you for a preferred name and that’s what they use, equally he would probably be quite proud to have a different name, when ours was into marvel / hero’s we told him it was his superhero name like Peter Parker for spider man and Bruce Wayne for Batman 🙄🤣🤣🤣

Orlando !

My son is Torin, he's 17 now. He absolutely loves his name. We love it too. We've also got a one sylable surname. It's easy to say and spell, unusual so not easy to pigeon-hole/stereotype. Also a traditional British/celtic name. I think it's a name that wil go anywhere, if that makes sense. He's been the only one at his school, but I do know of a few younger Torin's now. Big shout out for more Torins!

Leonidas is a really big brand of chocolate in Europe might not work well if kid ever works or travels in Europe it would be like being called Lindt or Hershey or Cadburys.

I love "Macsen" and especially the nickname "Mack", which is quite common here, but couldn't sell my husband on it.
