Sibling set - 3rd boy name!

Hi everyone 👋

We juuuuuust managed to agree on names for our first two boys and have found ourselves pregnant with a third boy 🤣 We are STRUGGLING to come up with a third name so looking for suggestions that go with our other two. They are - Ronan Alexander and Asher James.

We like names that aren't too popular or too unusual, generally pronounced the way they're read and our surname is only one syllable so we have tended to lean towards multi-syllable first names. The option of shortening would be a pro, but for the right name I think we'd be okay with something that's not got a common nickname.

Please hit me up with your suggestions 🙏

Thanks!

If your husband likes Levi, how about Leon?

I have an Asher and a Casper, but I wouldn't recommend them as a sibset because they sound exactly the same when called, which really annoys them both 🤣

Hahaha good to know! Both Casper and Cassius were on my list 🤣 (Casper, especially). I had never considered they would sound similar when called, which is definitely a reason I've decided against other names! PS. love your names ❤️❤️ beautiful!

@sk73804 In Belfast, it’s pronounced Kale-un or Keel-in.

I like Leon, but it's my uncle's name which we decided was too close.

We have been talking about Leo and I loooooove Leopold. My only worry with Leopold is that it's too strange/old fashioned and we'll just call him Leo and he'll be embarrassed at every school presentation/every time an unknown teacher calls his name at school 😬 it still makes me swoon though so... 🤷🏻‍♀️😍

Just as you mentioned a potential scenario of using Leo, but teachers using the long name - this happened to my cousin throughout school.

He is Sol, but on BC Solomon which I think is gorgeous.

Ronan, Asher & Solomon (Sol) sound like a couple of brothers!

Loooooove Solomon and "Sol". This is yet another case of husband resistance 🙄

I love Elliott too…it’s my top choice for baby due July (not sure gender yet)

I have a cousin Cormac and never met another. I think it’s unusual but not too “out there!”

🥹🥹🥹🥹 He said he "doesn't mind" Cormac!! We might be getting somewhere 😍

You've hit on quite a few names I like here (though sadly hubby isn't on board with them) - Liam (love but too popular), Elliott, Quinn, Evan (rhymes with our last name, not in a good way 😢) and Felix. I am close to getting hubby across the line with Maxwell which I really like and has a similar feel to the names you've suggested. Torin is also one we've been bouncing around and like a lot. Would love this group's thoughts on Talus? We both like it but worry it's too strange given our other names are relatively well known.

Talus is a bone in the foot. I wouldn't call your son that tbh.

Yep, we know. It's also a type of rock. We're tossing up spelling it Tallis as an alternative. Just trying to decide how much we care about the bone/rock associations. Thanks for sharing your view on that! It's helpful to hear how others react 🙂

I'm a radiographer so too much bone association for me haha!

The other thing that might help - I like quite a lot of names and hubby is the hard one to please. The ONLY boy name he likes is Levi and I just..... don't love it. It has no clear nickname and lots of other associations - biblical, the jeans ... Any suggestions for names with a similar vibe he might go for?

Oh- Ezekiel would be perfect for you- with nickname Zeke. I wish I had called ds 1 this and he’s an adult now and says he’d have loved it. I didn’t have the guts though. I would say with two 2-syllable names I’d usually like a 1 or 3 as it feels more final… than 2 which sounds like a list that may continue. So Ekekiel is the name- you’re welcome!! 🤣❤️
