How do you pronounce Evelyn?

I’m just curious what the most common/classic pronunciation is.

When I was at school there was an Evelyn in my class, and she’s probably the only one I’ve ever known, but my partner has also known a couple of Evelyns and they were pronounced differently.

So what sounds normal to you?

  1. Eve - Lin
  2. Ever - Lin
  3. Ave - Lin
  4. Something else?

I have known a couple who all pronounced it say Ev Lyn.

Lynn
Close relative. Accent on Ev but it's a short syllable, EVlynn.

I'm used to hearing EEEEEEVElin now but it's wrong

Ev Lin is most common where I live so that's usually my default followed by Eve Lin. I've only met a handful of Ever Lin's and I've met a lot of children (supply teacher).
