Lovely

continentallentil · 20/08/2023 14:33

I don’t like it personally

And separate to that would worry about teasing

Berlinlover · 20/08/2023 14:34

A definite no from me.

toastofthetown · 20/08/2023 14:35

I love Gaia.

imed · 20/08/2023 14:35

Love it. One of my favourites.

Amethyst2023 · 20/08/2023 14:36

I genuinely don’t know how to pronounce it?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 20/08/2023 14:37

No, I really dislike it, nothing pleasing about it at all IMHO. Also agree with huge potential for teasing.

cariadlet · 20/08/2023 14:40

A bit too hippyish/New Age Traveller vibe for me.

littleblackcat27 · 20/08/2023 14:40

No - sorry. Hard work to pronounce and spell. I guess it would be character building for the child.

Congratulations for your baby though .

Thefamilywaster · 20/08/2023 14:41

If you’re aware of the meaning you should also be aware of the businesses and conspiracy media channels using it and decide with that in mind.

a friend named her daughter isis in the 90s and it didn’t work out well for her

ourflagmeansdeath · 20/08/2023 14:41

Yes, it’s fine. Well known name, though not common. Emma Thompson’s daughter is Gaia.

Guy-uh

I know it from James Lovelock's Gaia theory but he got the name from the Greek goddess representing Mother Earth.

watcherintherye · 20/08/2023 14:48

Not a huge fan, but the name will always have sad associations for me because of the story of Gaia Pope.
