Suggestions welcome. We quite like Greek/mythology/mystic/romantic (I can’t think of the right term )

This is probably a very particular association for me due to a weird childhood, but "Thisbe" just makes me think of that Beatles sketch where they were inexplicably asked to perform the Pyramus and Thisbe play-within-a-play and Thisbe was played by John Lennon

I actually like Thisbe but I can't help but hear it in a West Country/pirate drawl.... 'Aarrr, this be me darrrghhterrr' 😅 sorry!

I quite like all the others except Xanthe. Have you considered Tanith? Seems to fit with your preferred style and the mythology theme (and is lovely IMO!)

Tabitha is nice but Elowen is beautiful.

We have a Thea so I obviously love the name - around us it isn't popular/common at all (yet?) I've been to loads of different baby groups, and I'm a teacher, and I haven't met a single other Thea. Everyone is always really complimentary about the name and it seems pretty universally liked on here too.

Thisbe - I half like it but think it would be a liability - Zoe or Circe? Hebe seems to be more mainstream now too
Tabitha - I like it for its witchiness but it’s also a bit twee… so probably not
Thea - done to death. Thora? Tara?
Elowen - great but she’ll be one of a zillion Ellies. How about Olwen, Gwen or ffion
Xanthe - Ianthe is much nicer
Callista - Cassia is much nicer

I know a Tabitha, she is Tiggy for short which I LOVE

I like Tiggy but don’t know how it can be short for Tabitha. Surely it should be Tibby or Tabby although I don’t like either.

Mumsnet is so weird. If someone asks about names like Evie, Lily, Ava etc, posters call the names boring and suggest names like you’ve asked about, OP. But if someone asks about names like these, posters say they’re ‘try hard’ and imply that boring names are better. Basically some posters like to criticise all options!

I love your names! Tabitha and Elowen are especially beautiful but Xanthe is lovely too. How about Evanthe, Ianthe, Ariadne? I have a little Tabitha and her name has sooo many cute nicknames - Tiggy, Tibby, Tabby, Bea, Kitty, Tiggs… I just love it! I laugh when people say it’s a cats name as if that’s a negative thing, I think it just makes the name even cooler! (I love Felix too which people also say is a cats name, so I guess I love cats names!)

My Tabitha is also a Tibby! 😁 so cute!

Taught for 35 years and only met one lovely Tabitha so not overused.

I like Tabitha and Xanthe. Thea is too popular particularly with all the Theo's and Theodores. I really like pp suggestions of : Talia, Talitha, Hebe and Calliope.
