so far i have maggie, mags, peggy, meg, megan, madge, greta. my mum says daisy is one too but i've never heard that one before!!

Daisy is a nick name for Margeret because Margeret comes from the latin name for daisy, I think.

I don't see the connection with Pearl

Yes Daisy is a dimunitive of Margaret, comes from the French version Marguerite (Margeurites are big Daisies)

Marguerite is the french version of Margaret, Latin name of a daisy

Margaret means 'pearl' in Greek
