Thoughts on Mordecai?

@mathanxiety I don't know anyone called Mordecai who is not Jewish. Whatever its origins are, its not usually used by someone who is not of Jewish heritage.

Haven't RTFT. There's also a film called Mortdecai, I noticed it on Amazon Prime the other day. It might be worth finding out what the plot of this is. And recognising that those familiar with the film but not the Biblical name might misspell it a bit or a lot.

Personally, I wouldn't use the name unless it had some religious or otherwise personal meaning for me.

It makes me think of Mordicant, from the Abhorsen books. One of the lesser dead, not a good character.

I love it but then both my kids have Hebrew names. 👌 I would love to know if OP does have Jewish heritage, but I think there is no problem with the name being used either way

There are no names that someone won't like. Even when we named our cat, someone said ''well, that's very old fashioned!'' This is due to an era thing, the cat appears unbothered. As long as there are biscuits in the bowl, she doesn't much mind what we call her. Sorry, I know your baby to be isn't a cat. Just saying. You can't please all the people and why should you.
