I actually love Oakley!

Strawberryjam88 · 18/01/2023 10:00

Do you find it a big babyish and not good enough for an adult?

Like the sunglasses??

It's a nice enough name, but because it's a brand name I wouldn't use it.

barbrahunter · 18/01/2023 10:01

Plumbers merchants, isn't it?

lunathestral · 18/01/2023 10:01

not a name I would choose but only because that's the name of the village I spent most of my life living in

WandaWonder · 18/01/2023 10:01

A good sunglasses brand name I think

mogtheexcellent · 18/01/2023 10:01

I know an Oakley.

Shes lovely.

KimWexlersPonyTail · 18/01/2023 10:01

It is a place name I am familiar with so not completely sold on it.

forevercurious · 18/01/2023 10:06

I know two baby girl Oakleys - both are 6 months old. Seems to becoming more a popular name.

Nimbostratus100 · 18/01/2023 10:09

never heard it before, but I think its lovely

littlelid · 18/01/2023 10:10

Sunglasses

Nice though.

It's a bit like Mason in my mind

TreePorcupine · 18/01/2023 10:11

I prefer Foster Grant or Ray Ban....

SoupDragon · 18/01/2023 10:11

It always makes me think of Ned Flanders and Oakily dokily

Whataretheodds · 18/01/2023 10:12

I wouldn't. Although spelt differently it does sound like you've named a child after sunglasses.

Why not just go for Oak?

littlelid · 18/01/2023 10:12

Oh now I'll be thinking that too!

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 18/01/2023 10:14

I used to teach a lovely Oakley, about fifteen years ago. He was absolutely inseparable from his best friend, Ashley. That always made me smile.

ODFOx · 18/01/2023 10:23

It's the name of some villages near Corby: Little Oakley and Great Oakley. So he can have somewhere named after him when he's a baby and a grown man!

Dacadactyl · 18/01/2023 10:24

I think it's terrible.

MerryChristmasToYou · 18/01/2023 12:27

Sunglasses or horseboxes, or a surname or house name.
Not a first name.

8lue8irds · 18/01/2023 12:29

I love this name and would've had it for my third had my husband vetoed it

Pemba · 18/01/2023 12:32

Sounds like a place, and a brand name. Not attractive as a child's name, although this seems to be becoming a trend. Hopefully it's just a fad.

Stepuptowardsinfinity · 18/01/2023 12:33

It's a village name. Or sounds like a biscuit. Sorry but it's awful.

FlounderingFruitcake · 18/01/2023 12:34

Not my taste but also isn’t it a girls name? I’ve met 3- one would be about 35 now, the others are toddlers. All girls.

4thonthe4th · 18/01/2023 12:35

I do know of a little girl called Oakley but it’s not my cup of tea.

Ariela · 18/01/2023 12:47

No. Posh horsebox lorries. Avoid.
