At first thought, would you associate the name Quinn to be a boy or girls name?

Girl.

And it sounds far too much like quim!

DillDanding · 26/12/2022 09:07

I know a female Quinn (she’s American).

I agree in this country, they’d get called Quim. 😂

Clevs · 26/12/2022 09:07

I only know one Quinn and he's a boy.

dizzydizzydizzy · 26/12/2022 09:09

Sounds more like a boy name to me. I have never met a Quinn though.

Thedoglovesmemore · 26/12/2022 09:10

Always makes me think of quim (nickname for a vagina) and I can’t get past that at all!

I would think girl. Perhaps because of the above!

Allmarbleslost · 26/12/2022 09:11

I would assume boy.

CaptainCallisto · 26/12/2022 09:12

I've known one of each, so it's unisex for me.

I think there's been a female Quinn in something on telly recently (though can't for the life of me remember what...maybe Glee?) which may skew it that way here, but generally speaking, I wouldn't assume either way.

Ohnotheydidnt · 26/12/2022 09:16

Girls name.

Although I do know a boy called Quinn however it doesn't suit him at all!

Nw22 · 26/12/2022 09:18

I know one of each

ChristmasCakeAndStilton · 26/12/2022 09:18

I know a boy, so would guess that way if I had to, but know it's unisex.

MerryMarigold · 26/12/2022 09:25

I haven't read responses. I'd say first reaction would be a boy, but if it was a girl I could get used to it very quickly. I know an River who is a girl and I thought it was a boy's name.

Jericha · 26/12/2022 09:25

I'd say boy.

Snowdropsarelovely · 26/12/2022 09:27

I've only ever heard it as a boy's name

KangarooKenny · 26/12/2022 09:29

For me it’s a female name, but I have met a male one.

Krakenwakes · 26/12/2022 09:31

Definitely a boy. It’s a male name, and surname.

LaughingLemur · 26/12/2022 09:31

There was a Quinn in the news recently as the youngest girl to have climbed all the munros.

I knew I'd seen a female Quinn on TV recently!!

I know of one of each

RambamThankyouMam · 26/12/2022 10:02

Girl.

Awful name.

Too close to quim.

And an ugly sound. Kwin.

FlounderingFruitcake · 26/12/2022 10:04

I used to take DD (now 5) to a baby group with 3 Quinns. 2 girls, 1 boy. Boy Quinn’s mum didn’t look very impressed. A few years later my work colleague also had a baby girl called Quinn. This was when we lived in the US though!

seven201 · 26/12/2022 10:10

I know a young girl and one teeneager who has changed their name to it and uses they/them pronouns. I think it's unisex but more girl personally.

AllOfThemWitches · 26/12/2022 10:11

Odd that people are banging on about quims, I know a (male) Quinn and this is not an issue for him at all. People on here are so weird. 😂

VoyageInTheDark · 26/12/2022 10:14

I think of it as a girl name. Only ever heard of quim on here!

Xiaoxiong · 26/12/2022 10:15

Two male ones in my family on the American side, one short for Quinlan.

ButterflyOil · 26/12/2022 10:16

Girl and I love it for a girl! Would be worried about nicknames though.
