Honest Thought's on ‘Tabitha’?

So I’m currently 25 weeks with our 4th!!!!
After much deliberation I’ve really settled on the name Tabitha but have had a real mixed bag of reactions from people regarding the name!

We’ve not told anyone that’s what we’ve chosen but just mentioned it when people have asked what names we like….

Now im not normally one to be too hung up on peoples opinions but Tabitha seems to really unsettle a lot of people! The main issue is I just don’t want to give her a name that she has trouble with when she’s older despite how much my husband and I love it!

She’s our gorgeous rainbow baby so one of her middle names will be either felicity/ Iris then Rose afterwards I.e Tabitha Felicity Rose.

Our other children are George, Tobias and Primrose so wanted another name in keeping and really feel that Tabitha sits so well!

Just very torn on what to do!

Mine is 17 and only gets called Tabitha by her grandma, to everyone else she's Tabs / Tabby / Tabby cat. Only thing I don't love about the name is other people's inability to spell it...

Do you like Tabby as name? As that is what everyone will call her.

SpicyToothpaste · 18/12/2022 08:15

Would have been DS’s name if he’d been a girl. Love it!

Harriettaa · 18/12/2022 08:18

LOVE LOVE it!!

One of my fave names

Jammymare · 18/12/2022 08:29

i have a 7 month old Tabitha, nn Tabs or tabby. Know one other 18yo through friends of friends, so thought it would be an uncommon but not unusual name.
Also we have a single syllable surname so needed snorting longer as a first.

Something not snorting 🤦‍♀️

I love this name.

PrincessesRUs · 18/12/2022 08:41

Absolutely love it!

Howeverdoyouneedme · 18/12/2022 08:43

My third child was going to be either Tabitha or Agatha, but he was a boy…

AntiqueCestChic · 18/12/2022 08:49

It's not my style at all - too twee.

The 2 (human!) Tabithas I know get shortened to Tabby and Tabs - which I don't like.

And yes I think it does sound like a cats name!

Absolutely love Felicity and Rose though!

DifficultBloodyWoman · 18/12/2022 08:49

Tabitha Rose is beautiful.

WillandLyra · 18/12/2022 08:51

I think it’s a lovely name and goes well with your other names.

ASimpleLobsterHat · 18/12/2022 09:25

I love it. It was on my list but I only had boys so no chance to use it.

Fivebeanchilli · 18/12/2022 10:24

It's beautiful. I love it - prefer Tabitha Felicity Rose.

coffeepleeease · 18/12/2022 11:42

Love it ❤️ and you don't hear of it much

nannyquestion1 · 18/12/2022 11:55

It was on my list for all three of my girls, didn't make the final cut though. I do love it! Youngest dd is Grace.

RuthW · 18/12/2022 11:58

Lovely

LlynTegid · 18/12/2022 11:58

Not one I would choose. Probably could get abbreviated to all sorts, such as Tabby.

newtb · 18/12/2022 12:04

Was the name of the witch in Bewitched.

Lullabies2Paralyze · 18/12/2022 12:08

I like it. I’ve only known one Tabitha in my life but that’s when we were children so no idea what she turned out like/ if she likes her name

Jellyjam36 · 18/12/2022 12:09

I like it but not sure on the middle names to go with it, sorry.

MilkyWaytoday · 18/12/2022 12:11

An old lady or a cat.

Gizmo79 · 18/12/2022 12:14

I have a Tabitha, I still love it.

DuchessOfSausage · 18/12/2022 12:18

It's ok. A bit twee. I wouldn't use Iris and Rose together, too flowery

SallyWD · 18/12/2022 12:19

I love it
