I really like Jeffrey, H wants Daniel

I don't partially like Daniel because of 'Danny boy' thing. Not great.

I love the meaning behind the name Jeffrey and think Jeff is a cool nickname whilst still being classic

Our other son is Vincent. DD is Athena. But they will be 18 and 22 years older than this baby

I feel Daniel is more timeless as in terms of name fads it it's not ever really popular but it's steady and doesn't date anyone.
Daniel could be 0-100. Jeffrey is now of 69 years ago.
Though Jeffrey is better than Barry, Brian and Nigel.

Ah, Jeffrey is our name if dc turns out to be a boy when they are born next week! Love Jeffrey! I'm slightly worried about the Dahmer thing as I've always been really interested in True Crime and stuff like that, and now the show is so popular it'll be at the front of everyone's minds. But I definitely am not name after a serial killer. And a little Jeff is adorable!!!
I don't like Daniel I am afraid. It's just one of those names I dislike for no reason. Every Daniel I've every met has been lovely though.

I think because it's not a very common name for a child these days a lot of people will think Jeffrey Dahmer. It's not as if there are loads of little Jeffrey's running around. My first thought was Dahmer

as a pp said because it’s not a common name these days it’s more likely to think of an association like that , the thomas the tank engine example is different because thomas/ Tom was a super popular name at the time I think there were 3 at least in my class at school

We had a Geoffrey at school who was called Bungle by everybody - even some of the teachers!

What's negative about 'Danny Boy' - it's just a pleasant, well-loved, patriotic song, even if people do make the association. It's not like Agadoo or The Cheeky Song or something!!!

I love Geoffrey (Jeffrey not so much). I knew a wonderful Geoff at school. It is still my husband's favourite name for a boy but I confess that Epstein, Archer and Dahmer have tainted it for me somewhat. Feel like I might curse a boy to a life of crime, which is so silly.
