DD's best friend is called Shirley. She's 6. I secretly think it's horrible.

desi - but what did you expect when you chose to call your DS 'Ejaculus'?.

I can only think of one name I don't like. Not a friend but girl higher up at school. It's a first name/surname catastrophe.

I love the name 'honey'. It's great

Norks ... why in the name of satan's pants didn't I think of Ejaculus instead of Stiffstick?? I thought it sounded vaguely Scandinavian at the time.

My brother's a carpet fitter, and he had to lay a carpet in a school last year. On the row of pegs was a girl's name which he thinks is just magical.

It was Poppy Button. Now, how cute is that? I love it, love it, love it.

my sister went to see Billy Bragg last week, lucky thing

there are names I don't like so much, obviously but then lots of people don't like my DD's name.

my mother keeps popping into my head saying 'now, we don't hate anything do we'

(hypocritical of her really, she says she hates numerous things every day)

Trouble is, hun, I've got a good friend with a daughter of that name.

I like Bailey. It's not contrived, it's rooted in the British language, it's not new, it's not affected.

I'm happy to take part on threads like this, providing it's positive. But when you start naming names, taking the piss, saying you don't like this, snorting at that, then it's time to remember that hundreds of thousands of people use this site, and some of them will have called their daughter Bailey.

both my children's names have been slated on here (mn that is, not this thread)
I don't expect everyone to like them, but being downright nasty is uncalled for

I know people with names that I wouldn't have chosen, or don't particularly like, but I wouldn't say I hate any of them

As I don't.

I guess you're a name-changer. I'd do the same if I wanted to be a wanker for an evening.

Sorry, Paula. That was not aimed at you, but to the bloke I'm talking to on here.

The agrarian demi-God.
