All too popular I'm afraid. I teach loads of olivia's (secondary school) and the daisys poppys and marthas are all currently primary school so following on behind! Nothing wrong with them, but I think you'd find your dd would be sharing it with a lot of others.
Lovely (and less popular) names of girls i know are:
Evangeline
Rosamond
Rosaline

I like Martha. There is a little girl in my DD's kindergarten called Martha, but it is very unusual here. Her sister is called Freda and her brother Anton. I love the names, they are unusual but not freaky.

3andnomore has good taste I have a Catriona. Seems to be quite unusual in UK too. She is Catriona Francesca.

Total Chaos - does Cariad mean 'darling' in Welsh? My late FIL used to always call me Cariad. He was from Abertillery. Watch this I bet it means - annoying daughter in law!

I really love the name Martha. I have a friend called Martha and she is - clever, witty, crazy, funny, beautiful and quite nutty!!!

Chuffinnora · 22/01/2008 22:21

Cariad does mean darling. I know a 3 yr old Cariad - known as Cari to most.
