Hello everyone. Husband and I are finding it hard to pick a girls name. We have a boys name picked out already. Older sister is named Heidi.

Here are some on the shortlist that we both agree on!

They all seem quite dull and commonly used compared to Heidi, which is beautiful and unusual. Maybe Lucy at a push?

Yes we love how unique Heidi is and would love some other suggestions.

It's so hard to find something we both agree on. I don't feel passionate about any of them in comparison to Heidi! We both love the boys name but I'm stressing over a girl's name as I want to love the name!

Evelyn is everywhere and will just be yet another Evie. It’s so popular.

I love Leah. Emma is nice too.

All a bit dull really. Lucy is the best of a boring bunch (sorry).

Leah. .Nice name even if I'd have had 10 girls it wouldn't have featured on anywhere on my short list.

Emily. This is one of those names that I blow roasting hot and ice cold on,at the moment I'm ice cold. There's no question its a very pretty name, though

Emma. Gorgeous and classic.

Evelyn. I really don't get the fixation and hype over this name.

Lucy. Adorablefor a child. Powerful strong sophisticated elegant attractive for an adult, what's not to love.

Amy. My sister is an Amy (Aimee) and I'm still jealous that she got the pretty name.😂

Leah - it's ok. Every one I've known has been lovely which makes me like it more.
Emily - nice name but there are so many of them. If that bothers you.
Emma - nice enough. Probably prefer Emily but Emma is less common.
Evelyn - quite like it. Prefer Ev-a-lin to Eve-lin.
Lucy - same as Leah. Fine but doesn't really grab me.
Amy - Love it. And not as popular as your other choice. More timeless.

I'd definitely choose Amy from your list. The others all go with Heidi but are just ... less exciting, somehow. How about:

Everly, Effie, Edith, Erin, Erica, Etta, Enya
Amaya, Amber, Amity, Aria, Ayla, Astrid, Avery

Leah is the best. The rest are all a bit meh and Heidi is so lovely.

I like Leah and Evelyn best.

Not keen on any of your list, especially Leah which reminds me of 'leer'-an ugly connotation. How about Tamsin, Coco, Cassia, Emerald or Fern? All gorgeous with Heidi.

I actually think Heidi and Emma is a nice combination. Heidi is getting quite popular and Emma while still in use isn't as popular as several of the others.

But otherwise Zoe, Sadie, Dora, Flora, Stella, Tessa, Seren, Ffion, Laurel, Robin, Rowan, Celeste, Colette, Annette all work

I'd avoid another "i" ending.

Oh no this seems to confirm my gut feeling that there is nothing particularly great about our list. I feel I've compromised too much now maybe as I don't love love any of them!!! Open to suggestions for a sister name to Heidi. Appreciate all the ideas so far.

The names on the list are pretty but plain, Heidi is much cooler!

I agree with a PP that Cassia sounds lovely with Heidi.

Evelyn - I don't like it at all. Eve and Evie are nice but so overused
All the rest are classic.

Leah - there are so many L names popular now it just blurs into the rest

Emma - I really like it
Lucy - I like it
Amy - a bit nothingy, I don't like Ames as a nn

Favourite is Emma, but not sure if it goes with Heidi. Not sure about having two with vowelly -ie/y/i sounds

@Claremum20 can I be really annoying and ask about your boy names? I had a boy last week and we have no names at all…..Heidi was my chosen name for a girl so I think we have similar taste!

For girls, I love leah from your list. Matilda, Eliza and Florence are other suggestions.
