Hello everyone. Husband and I are finding it hard to pick a girls name. We have a boys name picked out already. Older sister is named Heidi.

Here are some on the shortlist that we both agree on!

Leah
Emily
Emma
Evelyn
Lucy
Amy

Would love some thoughts on this!

Adelaide? (Addie as a nickname?)

City in Australia?

Sealover123 · 13/07/2023 07:43

@CallieQ Haha yes it is an Australian city, but it's actually a real given name.

Adelaide is the English form of a Germanic given name, from the Old High German Adalheidis, meaning "noble natured".

City in Australia?

City named after someone called Adelaide. Doubt you’d say the same about someone naming their kid Victoria??

@MassiveSalad22 , but lots of places were names after Queen Victoria, but not after Queen Adelaide.
