Hello there,

thanks what do you prefer out of:

Willow. (Too earthy?).
Skye. (Too many associations?)
Ava. (Too popular?)

I'm due soon, and love all of these names and some are more now than others and some have different perceptions but personally feel that for me and in my opinion they all could feasibly work.

id like to ask the lovely Mumsnetters as input is valuable!

my surname begins with a C and has two syllables.

I think they are all nice.

Willow is my favourite, a bit more unusual but still timeless.
But maybe you don’t want the initials WC.

Ava is everywhere
Skye - no

willow - I like but I wouldn’t like to be called it myself if you see what I mean.

Ava is the nicest name, but I do think it's too popular. Out of those, I'd probably choose Skye.

Willow. (Too earthy?).- too naturey for me. Might not suit someone short and stocky
Skye. (Too many associations?) - too naturey. Sky blue, Sky news etc
Ava. (Too popular?) - dislike it. Dull and overused, blends in with all the Eva, Ivy, Ada type names

I love Willow - a peaceful name, nice to say and not over-used.
Ava is nice - I don't know how popular it is as I can't say I've encountered many at DC nursery and school.
Skye makes me think of paw patrol and that aside, I'm not a huge fan.

I like Ava. I don’t like the other two at all. Popularity never bothered me, I just chose names that I liked and that I thought my children would be happy with in the future.

Ava is nice but sooooooo many Avas.... before even you get onto the hyphenated Avas.... 😂

I love nature inspired names Fern, Wren and sage were on my short list.

Willow is a beautiful name, and quite timeless. I know a Willow in her 40s and one aged 6 and it suits them both.
Skye and Ava are both ok, but I think will become quite dated.

I like Willow the best. I do think names sound better/different in certain accents though so always consider my accent when thinking about names. Don't really like Ava at all.

They're all beautiful! I would potentially use any of those. Skye is my favourite. But I prefer Sky without the E. As in like the big blue thing, not the island. My only problems with Willow are a.) What if she is short and stumpy and very not willowy (this came up for me as I was considering for my baby and we're a short stumpy family - he's a boy so I never reached a conclusion!) and b.) Her initials will be WC like a toilet? Neither are exactly real problems though!
