Relatively anglicised welsh boys names?

I'm 33w pregnant with DC2 and need to start thinking about names. Don't know sex but have a decent girls list - it's boys I'm stuck on.

I'm Welsh, DH is English, we live in England.

I'd like a Welsh name for DC2 but I think for DH to not veto it, it needs to be quite anglicised. Other than Rhys, Gavin, Idris and Gareth (which all a no for me thanks to family/boys I was at school with!) I'm coming up blank.

More than one syllable preferred. I LOVE Rhodri but suspect it'll get a no.

If all else fails I'm having Wyn as a middle name!!

They are men's names.
Arwel would be Ah-wul
Iwan will get witten as Ewan or Euan or said as Eye-wan, Ee-wan or Ee-WAN
Ieuan is not Y-eye-an in North Wales

Iestyn is nice

I live in wales and named my son Arwel! He’s 6 now and my mil still calls him ah well!! It’s so frustrating! 😩

Im Welsh and we moved right near the Seven bridge ( Welsh Side) our son has a v.v.Welsh name and its rarely pronouced correctly.
We moved back to West Wales and still people can't pronounce it well at times -
My advice,if living in England- go for an easy Welsh name
Eg
Morgan
Huw
Harri
Gwyn
Aled

It should be Iestyn not Jestyn.
Its pronounced 'Yestin'

@shiningstar2, David is hugely popular in Wales - the welsh versions tend to be popular in trends. Dewi would be about 60 yrs old, Dafydd about 40 and Deio about 20 yrs old (rough guide only).

None of them work brilliantly outside welsh-speaking areas. Dewi gets called Dewey or Dowey, Dafydd get spelt Daffyd and gets called Daffyth, and Deio gets called Day-oh

@Homegettinginvaded , Owain, Rhodri and Iestyn I hope.

Geraint doesn't work outside Wales - he'll be Juraint , Guh-RANT etc. The ones who get it (almost) right will probably say Gerr-INT not GERR-int (int like in Pint)

@Whattodonowadays , I 'm sure your MIL can say Harry ok so why can't she say Arwel?
