How many Harrison’s do you know?

We’re having a boy and the only name we can semi agree on is Harrison or Harry.
so how many Harrison’s do you know? Is it massively popular.

I’ve worked with a lot of children so a lot of names I associate with children so are automatically off the list. I also don’t like biblical names.

I really like Rafferty but DH not so much, he likes Alexander me so not much 🤣

last name will also start with a H

Other than the mighty Ford only one, he’s about 11.

AliBaliBears · 26/06/2022 17:55

I don't know any (I have a 2 year old). Much prefer Harris.

MermaidSwimming · 26/06/2022 17:56

3, age 8,15 and 14

clpsmum · 26/06/2022 18:01

3 that k can think of and 4 harris'

Cattenberg · 26/06/2022 18:04

I know one. He’s two years old.

CormoranStrike · 26/06/2022 18:06

It’s a lovely name - I know two or three, from toddlers to teens, over a wide geographic area

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 26/06/2022 18:41

About six, all in their teens. It has been quietly popular for a long time.

BurnDownTheDiscoHangTheDJ · 26/06/2022 18:45

Two, the first is in his mid-30s, the other is 2. I really don’t like it, it’s a surname in my opinion and if jars slightly. Henry with the nickname Harry- like the prince- is nice though.

CP2701 · 26/06/2022 19:30

I am a teacher in a primary school with 300 kids roughly. There are no Harrisons. A good few Harrys and Harris is also popular.

I prefer Harrison actually but then I'm not a name snob who insists on 'classic' names for all children.

RuthW · 26/06/2022 20:39

1 aged 16

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 26/06/2022 20:51

I know 1 and he is a very handsome 30 year old. Love the name. Shortened to Harry is awful imo.

Loulou1712 · 26/06/2022 20:53

My 6 month old nephew is Harrison
But I don't know any others x

Luredbyapomegranate · 27/06/2022 00:23

2 Harrisons and one Harris

I prefer Henry nn Harry, but I think Harrison is better than Harry or Harris as a full name

Rex is probably the most famous, or George. Linda was quite famous.

There’s a big list of them here.

powershowerforanhour · 27/06/2022 00:50

One, early 30s. His brothers have surnames as Christian names too.

I also know boys/men called
Crawford
Campbell
Bradley
Wilson

Hamilton
Clarke
Carson
Haldane
Irwin
Blair
Marshall

As well as a few called Scott, Graham/Graeme, Allen, Elliott named for surnames of maternal relatives

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 27/06/2022 04:15

My son. He’s 10.
I also know of one more in our town who is a couple of years younger.

My son is often known as H, especially if he’s writing class cards.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 27/06/2022 04:27

I know 2, 19 and 11
