We’re having a boy and the only name we can semi agree on is Harrison or Harry.
so how many Harrison’s do you know? Is it massively popular.

I’ve worked with a lot of children so a lot of names I associate with children so are automatically off the list. I also don’t like biblical names.

I really like Rafferty but DH not so much, he likes Alexander me so not much 🤣

last name will also start with a H

greenbirdsong · 26/06/2022 14:14

There's 3 in my sons preschool class.

faffadoodledo · 26/06/2022 14:17
  1. One is 7. The other 24
Sistanotcista · 26/06/2022 14:19

None with an apostrophe. Very unusual spelling - that should easily set him apart from all the others.

AllPlayedOut · 26/06/2022 14:20
  1. 1 is a baby and the other is 5. It's a lovely name.
DumpsterBagel · 26/06/2022 14:22
  1. All primary aged children.

2 are shortened to Harry, 1 to Harris.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 26/06/2022 14:25

Harrison Ford, obvs. In addition, two children have that first name in my primary school (one reception, one Y4), plus it's a surname within my extended family.

suzyscat · 26/06/2022 14:27

3 + the celeb. It was on our name list but had a DD.

Samthenanny · 26/06/2022 14:28

@Sistanotcista i asked a question of how many were known hence the apostrophe in the title name! obviously his name would be Harrison and not Harrison’s

That poster is being snarky because the apostrophe isn’t for plurals. I made the same grammatical error (my phone’s autocorrect function does it automatically and I didn’t notice it to correct it).

ancientgran · 26/06/2022 14:48

As a surname I've lost count, as a first name none, as a middle name one.

olympicsrock · 26/06/2022 14:51

I know one Harrison. I don’t like it to be honest, it’s a surname. Harry short for Henry is much better.

Apostrophes are seriously overused and abused on this board

Anyway, I know 1 x Harrison IRL. Plus the Star Wars one

Samthenanny · 26/06/2022 15:01

@LynneBenfield

i always find there’s a couple of snarky comments tbh

Neither of us are into Star Wars so never knew about the Star Wars connection but that doesn’t bother me, same with the royal connection I just had to Google. I knew he was Archie but didn’t know he was a Archie Harrison.

Quite a few in my kids primary school, it must have been in the top 50 for about 15 years or so.

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 26/06/2022 15:20

I only know one, a lovely boy of about 9 or 10. I feel like it's a name that's dipped in popularity a bit. I like it!

CatkinToadflax · 26/06/2022 15:32

Is your last name also a name that could be used as a first name? I used to know someone with a Harrison whose surname was also interchangeable (think along the lines of Oliver being a first name and also a surname). Her son’s name was often read the wrong way round, so Oliver Harrison instead of Harrison Oliver, and she found that extremely annoying. He was a baby at the time so I doubt he noticed! Just thought I’d mention this though. Nice name and it suited him well.

Olga03 · 26/06/2022 15:37

None. Based in South London with a one year old one.

Sortilege · 26/06/2022 15:38

I know three Harrisons in their early twenties. They’ve all gone by “Harry” for years.

Fingerscrossed22 · 26/06/2022 15:40

My Ds middle name is Harrison (Age 7)
I don't Know of any others.
Harri ( Welsh spelling) is a popupar name though- I know 8.

itsgettingweird · 26/06/2022 15:41

Rodneytrotterslovechild · 26/06/2022 15:43
