What name to choose from shortlist!

Baby coming soon and struggling to narrow down the name. We aren’t finding out the sex so have a list for each.

Olivia
Violet

Alexander or Clara

Alexander or Juliet

Alexander - safe, will be shortened
James - love
George - fine
Brian - like
Michael - like
Rowan - ok but Roman is very popular as are other R names

Nora - don't like
Juliet - no, because people say it as Julie Ette
Olivia - overused for too long
Violet - not keen prefer Viola
Clara - don't like

Alexander or James

James - too many
George - fine
Brian - no
Michael - not sure, various shortening.
Rowan - too many.

Nora - don't like
Juliet - like but prefer Clara
Olivia - like but prefer Clara
Violet - don't like
Clara - preference

I would cross off Brian (middle aged man name), and Nora (“bloody Nora!”).

Where do you live, what accent? Juliet and Violet are both lovely names, but imo aren’t nice in an accent that drops the T at the end.

Olivia has been extremely popular for years, does that bother you at all?

Noreen is an alternative to Nora? Sounds less old ladyish to me.

I did not know that 'Brian' was back on the scene! Not a fan.

Alexander- strong, classic, not twee and not overused

Nora- lovely name.
Olivia I love also but so popular in recent years

I've never heard somebody do that. Juliet's a nice name and everybody knows how to pronounce it.

I would choose Michael and Clara

Juliet or Violet out of the girls names

George or Clara.

Definitely not Brian or Violet.

Alexander for a boy. Juliet or Violet for a girl.

@ArmWrestlingWithChasNDave , there was a thread on it recently and a lot of posters said they say it as Juliette, so even if everyone knows how to say it, not everyone will say it the same way.

Alexander or James for a boy, Juliet or Clara for a girl.

Please don’t name your baby Brian! He really won’t thank you for it.

I didn’t see the Juliet pronunciation thread at the time but as far as I’m concerned Juliet and Juliette are pronounced the same! Juliette is just the French spelling which requires the double t and e for the t to be pronounced under French phonetic rules.
